So far, so great! We recently acquired a sous vide circulator so coordinating it with a vacuum sealer was ideal to ensure our meals would come out perfect. The challenge was to find a vacuum sealer that was efficient, reliable, and streamline in design. We couldn't be happier with the Gourmia one we purchased. Instructions are super easy to follow, and the results are even better than expected. In seconds our food is properly sealed and ready for the sous vide "bath". The finished results were delicious! Now, I think we may use the sealer to freeze some of our meats and poultry... Great product, you won't be disappointed!

I did have an issue at first - the bags seemed to be vacuuming fine, but it never stopped vacuuming/auto sealed. You can work around this by pressing the Cancel button after the bag is vacuumed, and then pressing the Seal button. After some back and forth with customer service (which is very responsive), we determined that it's because I live at a high elevation (around 6,000 feet). Apparently this is a known issue, and effects other brands/models as well. I'm giving this four stars not because of the issue, but because it's not documented anywhere on the product page or in the user manual. The troubleshooting section specifically mentions the problem of vacuuming but is not automatically sealing, but only gives problems with the bag or sealing gasket as remedies. If being at a high elevation is a known problem, then it should be documented in the manual (and preferably on the product page as well). Overall, I'm pleased with the purchase as it seems to work as well as much higher priced brands/models. I purchased this in an attempt to defeat the plastic waste of my Food Saver vacuum sealer. This device wastes at least 1.5 inches of bag material each time you create a new bag, actually it's more like 3 inches per bag if you don't want to wrestle with the bag trying to get it to seal with a shorter lead in to the sealing slot on the Food Saver. With my new Gourmia I do not get any waste at either end of the bag. It seals fast and tight, So far I have not had a single seal fail. It is absolutely great for Sous Vide use as you get smaller bags without the wasted 1.5 inch bag material hanging off the end of the bag.

I have been using this product for a little over a month and it has been working great. I went to use it today to vac come guacamole that I made and the light went on and the shorted out, and it wont seal. It lit up for a second and went out. Now, it will not turn back on. I tried other outlets, nothing. I paid good money for this and I am very displeased, also because I am out of my return window now with Amazon. I was actually going to order one for a friend, now I will not. Dissatisfied customer!

I was loving this little thing. It won't quit vacuuming and seal. I've tried all kinds of things and it just won't worked. I've had it less than 3 months and only used it a couple dozen times. When it did work it was awesome. Also, it fit in my kitchen drawer and was so convenient to pull out and use quickly.

Absolutely love my food saver! I tried it on a bag of chips that split down the side and it sealed the bag back up with no problem! I don't have to buy the food saver bags for it to work either. I can use it on any thin enough bag (chips, crackers, candy, etc). I had some family members use it at Christmas and now they are interested in getting one too! Worth it for the cost! -and honestly $50 wasn't that much for how much food I'll be able to save! Now if only I can find a canning attachment.

This sealer seemed to be exactly what I needed...until it broke down after 4 months of gentle use. I got excited when I first came across this unit given the reasonable price and high reviews. I needed a vacuum sealer to go along with my sous vide. This one had worked very well for the first few months, and I was satisfied with it. But 4 months in, it can barely remove any of the air out of the bag. I've experimented with different vacuum sealer bags to see if that was the problem, but the unit doesn't even work on an empty bag anymore. The price is appealing, but you'll get what you paid for with this unit.

Just used it last night for the first time! After a few failed trial runs, it worked great! I did some cut up sweet potatoes, some raw burgers, raw scallops and a tomato. I found it very easy to use. A great value for the price paid. I will update if it fails in an unreasonable amount of time. Update: as of January 2020 this baby is still going strong. I use it a few times a month and would recommend to anyone looking for an inexpensive but effective vacuum sealer!

Okay, I've owned two other types previously, both far more expensive than this. I really needed a new one and figured I'd take a chance on a cheaper model. Once you get the hang of using it, WORKS LIKE A CHARM! Fits in the cupboard. My freezer is killer for freezer burning items, even frozen pizza. This will safe me a lot of money keeping the food better. I take everything out of boxes, use the vacuum sealer to portion out the food.

I would buy it even if it was 100 euros. very easy to use. Perfect for sous vide cooking as I am using it for this reason

The machine works fast and efficiently. It is very easy to use and comes with a clear instruction booklet. It is very useful for a wide range of things that need to be sealed, not just food. I am very happy with the purchase and highly recommend it.

It takes a bit to press and close the machine. The loud click makes me worry about breaking it but so far it has been good for what I use it for. I like that there is a choice to use it with or without the vacuum.

I have mainly used this for vacuum sealing hop pellets for brewing and herbs Pros - When it works, it makes a strong vacuum with a good seal Seal always seems to be consistent Quick and easy to use Includes a roll of vacuum bag which can be cut to size. Heats up quickly Cons - Vacuum doesn't always work (using the included vacuum roll bags), quickly cuts out and goes straight to the sealing step. Vacuum sometimes doesn't stop to start the seal (though you can quickly hit click stop and seal to maintain the vacuum). Power cable is very short Clips/clamps require a lot of clamping force to engage (I know it needs to make an air tight seal but some may struggle to use and it feels like you're trying to break it) For a low use item its fine and the cost is about right, I will continue to use mine and am happy with the purchase. If you're looking to use with a high frequency and need a reliable vacuum seal this may not be the one for you.
