I had a tear in my nail very close to the flesh and about 1/3 the way across the nail - you can see the discolored edge in the first repair photo. I was devastated because I've been trying to grow out my nails and I want them to be even! I have done my own gel nails for over 10 years but never tried dips - this was so easy to use! Apply alcohol, dry, apply glue, dip in powder, dry, dust off excess, file away bumps and you're good! Since this was my index finger, I repeated the process 3 times total, applied to the whole nail, and the repair seems very solid. I think dusting away the excess powder and smoothing in-between layers will help keep bumps away. I applied my gel polish on top and it looks completely natural and smooth! I'm not sure how long it will last yet, or if the gel will have trouble staying bonded, but I'm optimistic so far. I highly recommend this kit if you repair your nails at home.
