The Best Glide ASE Survival Gill Net is a small Seine style net that was designed for survival applications and is an excellent addition to any survival kit, bug out bag, etc. It is constructed of a stronger monofilament line as opposed to weaker string netting. It has 1.5 inch mesh with a leaded foot (bottom) rope that acts as a weight to sink the net and the top ropes is made of polypropylene that floats.The Best Glide ASE Survival Gill Net is constructed of 24 feet of rope designed to expand to 12 ft length X 4 ft depth. However, the diamond design, like professional fishing nets, allows for the flexibility to adjust this length and depth such as 19 ft X 2 ft depth or 4 ft X 5 ft. The Best Glide ASE Survival Gill Net is designed to be used in streams, rivers, ponds, or larger bodies of water. It can also be used on land as a snare or trap for small game, such as rabbits, partridge, or pheasant. Review: Preparing for.......? - I bought this as insurance for 'Hard Times', whatever the definition of that may be. So, I haven't had the 'mis'opportunity to try it yet and hope I never do. But, you never know. Especially now with the direction our country is headed in regards to our current fiscal policies. That being said, from what I can see, it appears to be a quality made product and I have no regrets about purchasing it. Even IF I never have to use it. I also suggest anyone purchasing this, also buy 'The Modern Survival Manual: Surviving the Economic Collapse' by Fernando Ferfal Agguire. Forget the Zombie Apocalypse. It is one of the best books out there on what may ACTUALLY happen.

**Q: How big of fish would this catch?**
A: I've used this net as a hammock, I weigh 190 that should give you a rough idea

**Q: Is this reusable or just for a single catch?**
A: Reusable

**Q: Do I need a boat to set it up?**
A: The Gill Net is for small streams.  You tie the top rope to a tree and the bottom rope is a sinker rope. It should stay on the bottom of the stream. But a boat is not necessary.

A: Thank you for your question. Sorry it took a few days to answer, I had to reach out to our manufacture to get the answer. He said "There’s no metal weights, the bottom rope is a polyester blend rope used in the longline industry it’s a “sinking rope”. That top rope is a poly floating rope"  I hope this helps. Awesome little survival net! Might buy an extra one for my vehicle just for fun Compactness is pretty good you can fit it inside a Pringles can for reference Weights not bad relative to the use of the net Comes in a reusable mesh net that can be repurposed as a little trap as well
