There is no worse feeling than being a student nurse in clinical and not being able to hear a heartbeat while on a cardiac ICU. It is so embarrassing. However, you will NEVER have a problem with auscultation with this stethoscope. The difference is INSANE. The only downside is that it sounds so good that everyone else will decide to use your stethoscope instead of theirs. Trust me and buy it. It is an investment in your career.

I bought this item directly from Amazon LLC. I heard that there are many fake 3M Littmann stethoscopes. I've used for a week, and quality of heart and lung sounds are outstanding. Make sure to switch cardiac or pulmonary sound settings in the Eko app. If you hear heart sounds with pulmonary mode, there will be too much noise. Also, this item is very sensitive to sounds, you better use directly on the skin, clothes make noise. I contacted Eko customer service, and they said Littmann core directly from the Littmann store in Amazon (seller Amazon LLC) is authentic.

Be buying again when I have extra money

I can’t say much about the product itself as I bought it as a Christmas present for my mom, however she loves it and said it was a game changer at work. Additionally she also mentioned that even when it is off it has a much clearer sound than other stethoscopes she has had.

It's been great having this when I have a lot of background noises in a patient's room. It's very important to remember to charge it between 12 hour shifts though!

Maybe you're quite sick and gave in to paying $350 total for this so you can send some doctor your heart/lung sounds. I may do a real comparison soon, since I think a decent simple MICROPHONE to your chest would do better than this, BUT the real problem is they purposefully CRIPPLED this device and app so you CAN NOT RECORD your own Audio! They even made it so Screen Recorder apps will NOT WORK if you thought you're smart and found a workaround to their devious schemes to force you to pay monthly service fees and send them your private audio on their servers. (Oh yea this records all audio around you not just your heart/lung.) Your best luck is to pair this via BLUETOOTH to your COMPUTER instead of to actual headphones, and then as the audio plays on your computer use various apps on your PC to try and record the audio. For APPLE I think you can plug your iphone into Mac and use the iPhone as "Audio Source" in iTunes. It must be worth paying for fake reviews when you sell a Highly Profitable $350 device that is then also purposefully CRIPPLED so you can't use it for what you bought it until you pay them MORE monthly etc! And lastly what's with all this requiring to create an ONLINE account or else you can't use this digital device at all with your phone? All that junk should be optional, there is NO REASON for it to be FORCED!

I have to say, I love this stethoscope! I previously had the III version stethoscope from Littmann and although I liked it, I struggled to hear sounds clearly on certain patients. After trying a similar model of my co-worker's I was finally convinced to get this one. I love how clear the audio is; I can even hear heart sounds when listening to lower posterior lungs! I'm not a big fan of the Eko app as I don't have much use for it but I like connecting to it to see my stethoscope's battery life. I've heard some people say it's tedious to charge the stethoscope but I simply turn the electronic mode off after auscultating patients and I only have to charge it every ~3 (12 hour) shifts. And even then it's only about 2 hours to charge it fully. So not a big nuisance in my eyes. To me the only slight issue is that the stethoscope tubing is longer than the III model, meaning it doesn't fit into my current stethoscope case and is a bit awkward to fold and put in my scrub pants' side pocket. But still a great item!

All Littman products have a 12 or 14 digit company serial number whereas this has only 10 digit number which raises a question mark on its genuine
