For the product iitself I give 5 stars. Not sure why some folks gave poor reviews. Installed easily on a 2015 Tacoma. - Granted you may have some tiny scratches because it comes in a box and is not boubble wrapped. Also had read the reviews so knew it might arrive in Hawaii with some scrtaches (minor, certainly no reason to return) - Granted the installation instructions are lacking (2 stars). As others have noted, throw the instructions away and just use the 6 mounting screws (actually 4 screws with plastic locks and 2 pushpins) where they line up on the hood (and they lined up perfectly) and you're done in 10 minutes. Remember there's plastic, so don't overtighten, just snug! The thin clear 2-sided mounting tape which is supposed to go all along the leading edge of the hood was a pain, and 1/2 of it was stuck to the other 1/2 when I received it (backing had peeled off), so unusable anyways. Anyways it stays in place just fine without the tape (highway tested). Bottom line, reasonable price, easy install (if you read the reviews first), and looks great! -- Update-- this deflector actually makes popping up my hood easier, clearance is so tight between grill and hood on Tacomas (2015 anyways) it is almost impossible to get your fingers in and lift. No longer a problem, now I pull the cable in the cab and the hood pops right up!

Great product, easy install and warranty also. Since I’ve had it no issues with wind or warping.

First off, ordered it on 3/31/13 and it arrived 2 days later (live in SoCal). Right out of the box (not having actually installed it yet) my two primary concerns were allayed. 1) the holes on the inside of the hood match up perfectly with the hood protector. 2)the guard does not touch the top of the hood whatsoever. All the hardware is included and looks like it'll be a snap to install. Did a lot of research and am very glad I didn't go with the OEM from the dealer which, with pieces that connect on the top of the hood will actually take the paint off! Once installed I can see where there is a good inch between the hood and the guard and if it means anything the logo is etched (not painted) for a nice clean look. The color of my Tacoma is Magnetic Grey Metallic and with the guard in place it has a nice clean look as well. My purpose for the guard was not for bugs persay but for Hwy rocks and pebbles. For the price, free shipping and a two day turnaround I couldn't be more pleased, there's even a install video on the AVS site, the Auto Ventshade 25310 Bugflector II Hood Shield for my 2013 Tacoma PreRunner is a "Perfect Fit".

It was easy to install & looks nice. I'm a 71yr old women & my uncle ( 73 ) was going to help me put it on, but when he saw the brackets already on the hood wouldn't match up he decided it was complicated. I went home took off the brackets, lined the shade up with holes on the underside of the hood, put the bolts in & It looks like a professional installed!

Looks goods on the truck. I'm not a fan of the 3M tape to be applied to the front edge of the hood. Water, Salt, and Freezing weather has the potential of doing more harm than good if trapped under any crease or bubble. Other than that it snaps on in about 5-10 mins. The OEM seal between under the front of the hood has a little bit of a gap, but not very noticeable unless you give it a close look. The AV stick on emblem is crooked, but unless you're ocd like me, it's not a big deal. Note: install the 4 metal screws with square fittings before the 2 plastic press-in fasteners. Pull the plastic screw out as much as possible before inserting it into the holes and use a screw driver to push them in, trying to thread them in will not work. They need to be pushed in. Overall I'm happy with the look and even more happy that I have a defense against bugs and rocks. Only negative is the 3M tape, time will tell if leaving it off does more harm than good. it looks like the very front edge is clear of the shield, but with air pressure while driving down the road, I'm not as confident.

Applies directly with 3M tape and is semi-permanent once in place. Recommend a two-person application to ensure perfect placement. I purchased solely for the purpose of protecting the leading edge of the hood from dings and scratches. I previously had a raised device that claimed to also be a bug deflector, which was bogus. I like the look and protection of this one and don't have to worry about tree limbs catching it or even damage from automatic car washes. Solid product for my purposes.

Does not fit. Too long. Had to trim and sand both ends 1/8” plus just to not overlap edges. Contour off some also. Front edges of front vents flaps over window with no place to adhere. See what happens with wind. Hope adhesive isn’t as bad as rest of product. Should have sent back. Forgot how much I paid for them until I modified.. Very displeased. MY BAD reviewed wrong item... This was good product. Would suggest

Easy to install. Sturdy and good looking.

Looks great on the truck. Perfect fit however I messed up sticking it to my hood and it's a bit off on the one side but should do the trick. If not I can always buy more 2 sided tape and try again. Best thing about these is you dont hear the constant whistle while you drive.

Great bug deflector, fit my 2013 Tacoma well and looks great!
