Propane Tank Digital Scale for 5LB, 10LB, 20LB, 30LB, 40 LB Propane Tanks, (Black)

I've tried several methods of determining how much propane is remaining in the tank and all have been very inconsistent in the results. I purchased the Flame King scale and the readouts are accurate and easy to understand. Just insert 2 AAA batteries (one on each end of the control), set the weight of the tank.....standard propane tank is 20 lbs when empty....hook the control to the tank and lift gently. The scale will tell you the current weight and the percent of gas left in the tank plus a display showing you the remaining level of gas. Easy to use and definitely worth the price.

This thing is simple to use and I think it gives you a fairly accurate idea of where you're at So when you get in that 20% range you know it's time to refill. Even if it's 25% or 15 it's close enough.

Needed a way to measure my tanks and how full they were. Worked great. I will say the battery compartments are a little weak and the cover pops off easily if not put on correctly.

I was tired of trying to guess how much propane I had left in my tank. I tried a pressure gauge as well as the temperature strips, but none worked reliably. This scale seems to have changed all that. Now I know by weight how much fuel is left and can be prepared with a replacement. Having to install a triple A battery on each side is a little annoying and I can see the fragile covers being easily damaged or lost. Other than that, the gauge is easy to use, measures in 1/5 volume levels and can be set for any available tank size. If you want to be sure you have enough fuel on hand, this is the tool for you.

This product works well and provides a very good estimate of remaining propane. The one glitch is that you shouldn’t leave the battery in it when not using it for a long time. I’m buying a replacement unit because leaving the battery in it over the winter months destroyed it. My mistake. It is a useful enough product to buy a second time. Other types of sensors (the ultrasonic one that attaches magnetically to the tank bottom; pressure sensors that attach to the valve connection) have not done a good job. The ultrasonic ones are great when they work but I was not able to get consistent readings. Always adding gel, replacing batteries, repositioning. The tank valve ones are useful for showing if you have enough fuel for today, but don’t really tell you if you have 1/3 tank or a full tank. Cheap spring scales usually have a display in an inconvenient place.

Gauge is easy to use and much more accurate than the 'dial' gauge that I have on the propane tanks. Came in handy as a recent cold snap and non-delivery of propane to my house made me rely on a 20k btu indoor propane heater.

First, the inline gauges that measure tank pressure do not work, I have had several over the years. They are NOT reliable, but I digress. Best method is to measure by weight and this scale is the only one I see that is readily available. I do have other Flame King products and I am extremely happy with them so thought I would give this a try. It works great. Selectible for tank size and easy to read. Quality control of the battery covers, I.E., remove and install - meh. Before you open them (the battery covers) realize that they are meant to slide out - see the arrows? You are supposed to press down on the arrows and slide the cover/s out. NOT lift up on the outside edge. There is a single, tiny week latch on the middle of the outside of each cover that will be destroyed if you just get frustrated and simply lift up and snap the cover out from the outside edge. If you do this - it will break that teeny, tiny little locking tab and the covers will never close right again. Good news is that the gauge works fine without the covers. If you break that little tab you can toss the covers or tape them closed if it bothers you :-) A great product/design with poor execution of quality control. The covers should be designed to press and slide off easily. I totally get the negative reviews in that respect. Just a few more cents of quality control and I would give this item 10 stars. The covers just stink, otherwise works fine. Even without the covers as the batteries fit very tight and won't fall out.

This accurate scale works like a charge. No need for extra expense with gauges on propane tanks!

I like that i know exactly the level of propane in percent that is left in my 10 lb cylinder. It's much more precise then a pressure gauge which well indicates pressure that has nothing to do with the quantity of propane. No more guessing!!!

No more guessing if and when your propane tank is empty. The easy conversion from one size tank to another is bonus.
