Counted Cross Stitch Christmas Pals Ornament Kit, 6 pcs

So cute!! I loved these patterns so much, I leave them out on display all year long!

Loved stitching these ornaments. I am surprised to see all the bad reviews. I hate changing the thread so I stitch in a way that conserves it. I guess that's why I never ran out of any colors although there were a few that I thought it might happen with. I don't like the way that the kit backs the ornaments so I searched on youtube to see what other people did. I feel hopeful about the method that I decided to use and have purchased all of the material (mounting board, tacky glue, cording, and cute Christmas fat quarters). I recommend these ornaments; they stitched up quickly and they were fun. I can't wait to see the final finished product.

The design is very cute and the directions are clear. The only problem, as others have stated, is that there are multiple colors for which there is not enough embroidery floss included with the kit. I was able to find closely matching colors at my local craft store, but still a mild inconvenience to have to buy additional materials for a kit that one would expect to have all necessary materials to complete as shown.

Stitching these took about a month, working at least 2-3 times/week for at least an hour each setting. The thread and aida are high quality, and the colors are bright and vibrant. The instructions for stitching and assembling the ornaments were clear and easy to follow. I appreciated being able to complete the designs in any order I chose. I cut the aida first and stitched the six designs separately, but it may have been easier to leave the aida intact and cut when all six have been stitched. Overall a wonderful kit with six cheerful, charming designs that work well alone or as part of the set. The finished ornaments are not too big and not too small, perfect for any sized tree, or to hang throughout your home. Note: The kit does not come with everything needed to assemble the final ornaments - no fabric glue, no cardboard. It does contain the felt needed to back them.

These patterns are not for beginners, more like intermediate, but are very cute. All the thread was included. The directions for the French knot were hard to follow. I got easier directions online.

I was satisfied with the overall product. Very nice pattern. However, as others have pointed out, this kit was short on thread. There was not even close to enough of the two colors used for half cross stitches to shadow the background (pale peach, pale brown). If you do use this kit, don't even start with their floss for those two colors--just use something close. I also ran short on the dark green and dark brown. In the directions in the kit, it specifically says to contact them if you need more floss. There was a website provided for questions. I used that to contact the manufacturer; here is the reply I got: "We are sorry for the inconvenience. We don’t stock thread separately. If you want to check for the DMC brand equivalent, you could get it in a local store quicker. The conversion list is attached so you can check. Let us know if you need further assistance. Special thread orders takes a number of weeks before we can get it to send out." I went to my local craft store and bought the DMC; The green and the brown did match well enough. I bought extra in some of the reds also cause I was afraid of running out and didn't want to have to make another trip--they are NOT good color matches. You could substitute them if you use it for the whole piece, but not if you have already used some of the provided colors. The amount of aida cloth provided was just enough--if you carefully cut it into 6 equal sections (2 rows of 3 across), it worked out. You will not have much margin on several of the patterns. There is enough felt. Overall, the patterns are ok to read. There are a lot of single stitches and open spaces--I used a magnet strip on a metal board to keep track of where I was. The snowflakes are very challenging to do-- white thread on cream cloth. I would not recommend this as your first counted cross stitch project.

You can’t really go wrong with Dimensions, nice little kit, exactly as described. Specially dyed colors to match the artwork, very bright/pretty.

I really like how they look from the picture. I have not started these yet, but from the patterns, they will be easy for anyone who likes counted cross stitch. I like that Dimensions separates the embroidery floss so there is no confusion. Nice cross stitch kit. 11-1-21 I have since stitched most of these and given to grandkids and they turn out great. They are easy to do and fun to stitch. Great kit. I've enjoyed doing these.

Good beginner project. Very cute. Fabric glue and quilt batting needs to be purchased seperatly.
