ATP ZE-1 Zeo Trap 2 Lb. Bag

Purchased a new used car 2 weeks ago, great buy overall with only 22k miles, except the previous owner was a smoker. Myself being an ex-smoker, I didn't mind too much, but it was certainly noticeable to all of my passengers. I live near Phoenix so, I figured a few good days of airing it out while the interior cooked in 90+ deg F heat (with windows open) would do. Nope. So, here are my attempts to get rid of the smoke smell 1st attempt: Febreze in the vents, inside and out. Outcome: Still smelt the smoke, especially with the AC on. 2nd attempt: Super vacuum/ clean the interior, wash the floor mats. Outcome: Cleaner but interior still smelled of smoke. 3rd attempt: Dryer sheets under the seats. Outcome: No noticeable difference. 4th attempt: Clip on air vent air fresheners. Outcome: Nice fruity smell trying to mask an ever persistent smoke smell. 5th attempt: I finally resorted to the internet for answers, saw a YouTube video from Scotty Kilmer and figured I try out this "bag of rocks". I was out of town for 5 days so pulled the car into the garage and left the windows open to air out. The package arrived on a Monday and I asked my wife to just throw the tyvek bag of rocks onto the floorboard. I was back in town on Friday and was excited to see the results...needless to say I was very skeptical. Low and behold, there was ZERO hint of smoke smell in the interior of the car, even with the AC on. I couldn't believe it. Even my wife and son say the smell is gone. So, the bag is now located on the back floorboard and will likely stay there... well forever. Highly recommend this product and I am still in disbelief that it worked, but it did and that's all that matters.

was really good deodorizing the house for like a month but after that even if i recharged it under the sun it stop doing what is was suppose to do it only a temporary use for odor control.

I used these to absorb the off-gassing of paint lacquer in the closed cabinets on my daughter's bookshelves, as well as dresser drawers. After 2 weeks, the smell is 70% less than it was, originally, (And I had been airing them out in the garage for months, to no avail.) As a person with chemical sensitivities, these bags are lifesavers for me--as they quickly absorb the strong out-gassing smells from new furniture, new cars, computers, plastics and other electronics, etc. They also work great in the fridge to absorb odors, and in the bottom of the diaper pail or garbage can, beneath the bag. I have used them over the years for many things, and am always so grateful for them. After absorbing strong odors for a few weeks, I put them out in the sun for a couple days and they are like new. As for complaints, here--as another reviewer said, they aren't optimal for removing embedded odors like mold or spilled substances in fabric. Although they will definitely take the edge off, the source of these problems have to be removed at the root, as Zeolite can only do so much and isn't a replacement for deep cleaning. It works best for things that are more surface or secondary smells, so to speak. As for this particular company, my first time using--2 of the 6 bags I received were broken and the zeolite was spilling out, thus the deducted star. Otherwise, great. It works.

My car doesn't smell too bad, but it's 12 years old and has a slight odor. I thought this might get rid of the annoyance before it becomes a real problem, but I can't tell a difference.

This stuff really works! We got a second hand couch that smelled terrbily of smoke. We bought two bags and placed them on the couch. The stench was overpowering and almost made us sick, in a few days the smell lessened and no longer filled the room, after a week there was a huge difference and in two weeks the smell was gone. Would buy these over and over again. Amazing product!!

I'm on the fence about this product. I have been using the ATP ZE-1 Zeo Trap Bag in my 2004 Infinity FX45 for six months now and I can't say that it has made a measurable difference. I was trying to knock back a musty AC odor and, while slightly improved, it has also been in use during the winter months when the odor is generally minimized. On a positive note, I had a visiting friend tell me that my car still smelled new and must only be about three years old when, in fact, it's a ten-year old vehicle. So I'm going to proceed with the next step and remove it from the FX45 to recharge it in the Florida sun. If a noticeable odor returns I'll know that it was, indeed, working. If not, then it will convince me that the Zeo Trap Bag is a "less than effective" product and I will update my review to reflect that. But I will give it another six months of in-car use to determine if I can endorse it with any certainty. Lastly, the price increased by more than $3.50 since I purchased it on Amazon which further detracts from the 'value' of the product.

A winner! Non-toxic - used after storm seepage soaked most of my basement carpet. after several days of drying it out with fans and space heaters, everything was fine, but smell a little off. two of these packets pulled it right back to normal after just a few days. I bought 2 for a 14 by 25 family room. So much better than risking exposure to the serious chemicals in mildew bombs in my living space. The bombs contain fungicides - anything with a "cide" on the end is usually bad for living creatures!

After using this in my wife's car for a couple of weeks...I can't really tell much of a difference? Perhaps it works better in some applications but the odor in my wife's car is still there.

I had a smell from the floor mats in my car , after I had them cleaned there was still some oder in the car. Since I got this Zeo Trap all the oder in the car has now gone. Great product. Highly recommended.

After leaving it in the car for 1 weeks it get rid of last's owner's stale cosmetic odor. At first I was planning to remove all the carpet to get it power washed... Now save me tons of work and it works really good!!!

This works great! Put it into my old Corolla overnight and unexpectedly the following afternoon most of the "old car" smell was gone leaving a neutral scent. Very happy with this product and will definitely be purchasing more!

works but only for the less intense smells.

Works as advertised, now my car doesn't smell. I have not needed to use the refresh procedure yet, and cannot speak to that.
