Neutral accurate detailed
How do you listen to music, and what relationship do you want with it? These headphones major on detail and neutrality as they are purposed for critical monitoring and mixing in studio environments. Which is not how I use them. They are plugged in to my smartphone via a little AudioQuest Dragonfly Cobalt DAC for enjoyable music listening, mostly at home. Comfy. Lightweight. Closed back isolation. Easy load to drive. Not exactly discreet but you could take them out when you travel, because you are a discerning listener, less concerned about what they look like, and more interested in how they make your music sound. Right? And how is that? Very accurate, detailed, revealing, allowing you to listen right into the mix, stable, composed, good separation and soundstage, nimble. They put out what you put in, so don’t expect them to smooth over badly recorded, over compressed, or poorly mixed content. The better your source the better they sound. Always a benchmark for good audio gear. Initially they take some getting used to. First, some time is needed for them to break in, despite what the manufacturer tells you about “ ready out of the box”. However break in time is a lot less than many other audiophile components. Leave music running through them overnight at a reasonable volume or better, one of those wide frequency range burn in cds that have all sorts of blips, peeps and rumbles on them. Done that? OK, so where’s the bass? It’s all there, but not boosted so that it interferes with other frequencies. That might put some off, as might a certain sense of detachment. These Beyers don’t get you on stage with the band. Instead you are further back in the auditorium, right where the guys on the mixing desk are sitting. You are in the correct place, listening to everything that’s going on rather than abandoning yourself to shaking your stuff right down at the front. That’s how they are designed. To monitor. Whether you consider this a drawback depends on how you like your music served up. I’d say don’t be put off. I’m loving them, and your music will sound great once your ears and brain have adjusted to the differences. Be patient and you will get your reward. Well designed, easy to wear, robust, replaceable parts, well priced. Proper bargain.

Non-Professional Review
I’ll preface by saying I am not a professional music producer I don’t make music I bought these headphones purely for my enjoyment. Comfort: These are comfy headphones, I own a pair of Sony WH-1000XM3 which are pretty much the comfiest headphones out there so I knew they would be a step down, but I was surprised. Ear cups are very soft and comfy, the cups fit over my ears just fine and I have quite big ears. There is a little bit of clamping pressure in front of my ears which isn’t that bad but I think would become noticeable after a few hours usage, the headphones are very light so doesn’t hurt the top of my head - 4.5/5 Build Quality: They are very well built, love the easily replaceable parts, no issues with creaking or flexing. Also love that the audio cable has a 1.5 inch and 3.5mm jack in one - 5/5 Sound Quality: This probably goes without saying, but you really have to be in a quiet setting to appreciate these headphones. Coming from consumer headphones to studio headphones I realise why they are a niche product. They are very flat - there are no defining characteristics, highs are sparkly, lows are deep and warm (when they need to be) and mids ever so slightly less present but it is hard to notice. To the average person they might not be able to fully appreciate how good the sound is because they are so flat. Isolation is good, but for £200 you’re not getting the top of the line, it is however much better than the Sonys. Interesting to adjust the EQ on songs - whatever sound you’re looking for can be produced e.g. if I raise the bass it makes no noticeable difference to mids and highs (I don’t have any equipment to measure this but its not noticeable to the untrained ear anyway). I have noticed that when there are lots of instrumentals playing loudly and singing over the top the sound starts to crumble away which I’m sure is because I don’t have an amplifier - they are only 48 ohms but to get their full potential I would recommend getting an amp. Conclusion - Best £200 I ever spent on a pair of headphones, the value is absolutely insane - I was hoping for an enjoyable listening experience and thats definitely what I got. Will be buying an amp to get 100% potential but definitely worth the money.

Best pair of headphones I've ever owned
I've tried all different headphones over the years. I had Grado's a few years back which had amazing sound quality but were uncomfortable to wear, but these have arguably better sound quality and are comfortable enough for long sessions. Honestly, buy these and you'll never need a pair of headphones again. Pair them up with a decent DAC and you'll be set for life. Sound quality is phenomenal and the padded ear cushions are a god send. They come with a large cable and a short cable, but the short cable is more than enough. They're really sturdy and made really well. They can be slightly tight when you first put them on but they loosen up eventually. Worth every penny.

Game changer for Mixing and Mastering headphones on a budget
First off, I NEVER write reviews so take that as a good sign haha. If you are on a budget, you won't find better in terms of sound quality. The clarity of my mixes is noticeably different since I've been using these for on the fly mixing. I would even go as far as saying they have impacted some of my creative process when producing by picking up different aspects of the track that could use a certain sound which I would necessarily have noticed before on my old cans or my audio monitors. I bought these as a stop gap between the 1770's as I needed a interim replacement for my headphones and honestly I am so impressed. You really get a wide frequency response the lows are possibly a little more accentuated but that is to be expected any closed back headphones, just bare that in mind if you are producing bass heavy music such as House or anything electronic. The clarity on the highs is impressive, 40,000 kHz to be precise so you really are able to hone in on any transients or clicks and mix them accordingly. Same goes for the mids, there is a lot of clarity and you're able to mix them with precision leading to mixes sounding a whole lot less muddy. As far as gaming goes, whilst I am not an avid gamer I do tend to use my headphones for gaming occasionally and you won't be disappointed. I found myself second guessing whether or not some sounds where the game or something was in the house, so that was both impressive and unsettling haha. If you are playing a horror game prepare yourself for an immersive experience. Which leads me to my final point on the sound quality. When you are wearing these they filter out so much external noise it's almost silent. Great if you need to concentrate or of course for studio sessions. No, they are not active noise cancellation but they have done a great job at isolating you from your surroundings. My only bug bear on these is the comfort. I wear headphones a lot for DJing, work and long studio sessions so comfort is really important. They aren't the worst but I do find after a few hours my ears do start hurting at the top where the padding is. The headband however is very comfortable so it isn't a deal breaker more a personal preference. The head band also features a removable cushion which is a nice touch at prolonging the life of these headphones as wear and tear is inevitable. Over all, these are great addition to any creator or gaming studio set up if you are on a budget or like me are wanting to try out Beyerdynamic before splashing big cash on a higher spec product.

Quality headphones, sound and build exceptional.
first off i'm no 'audiophile' which is no bad thing ! i know my own ears and i've tried several headphone brands over the years from sennheiser, audio technica, onkyo ,beyerdynamic etc and for the money these are by far the best, sound is neutral and treble is less bright than older beyers , i've read that all you need is to pair them with a good dac and you'll be set, trust me these don't need a dac as i have tried several and they didn't add any improvement to the overall sound quality and they are easy to drive at 48 ohms , only thing i have done is eq'd them slightly with the apo and peace app, but that's just me, at the end of the day sound is subjective an i'm not that much of a purist, if i want a little more low end i eq it simples !

A good alternative.
The 700 Pro X are more mellow than the 770 Pro X. The 770 Pro X are better for more analytical work but I find the 700 Pro X more comfortable, so I use 770's for the studio, and 700's for relaxing. Having all the same removable cables is a plus.

Headphones without compromise
Sound - 5 There are probably 3x price headphones that sound better, but I have never had the chance to use those in a regular setting. They can get uncomfortably loud without distortion (if you choose to do that to yourself- I use them as speakers in a quiet room), which is a sign of quality. Bass, mids and highs are all present and have their own space. Speaking of space, I am no audiophile- it's said an open back creates a more detailed soundstage, but I will always prefer closed back, and I don't feel like I'm comprising, because of the next point. Listening to music on these headphones compared to my previous DT770 Pros or my ATH-M50xBT2 (used for commuting), I can hear subtones and occasionally entire instruments I never noticed previously. This is such a satisfying experience I can't give lower than a 5. Comfort - 5 This is a light headset. Not too hot, not too much pressure, all while fitting securely. You can dance badly with these on and they won't show any signs of coming off or causing discomfort. Serviceability - 5 I don't know of more modular headphones for the price, and given the build quality, it's likely the component most frequently needing replacement are the ear cups due to contact with the head. Even then, the new earcup design introduces more separation than the DT770 Pros and as a result there is next to no detritus after 6 months of daily use. Price - 5 Calculated from the other factors- I usually get much more critical of price as soon as I feel like I'm having to sacrifice something. I simply have no complaints with these headphones.

Sincere e spietate
Sono audiofilo e so quello che dico. Consiglio queste cuffie.
