I received a pacakage that has a green plastic cover and it doesn't come with a self adhesive strip. The image shows the product in purple plastic package, identical to the ones I had received from the hospital and those had a self adhesive strip. Having used one with adhesive strip (from the hospital) and one purchased from Amazon without the adhesive strip, I would say that the adhesive strip would not help much because it still would move around a little bit. Hope this helps. **Q: How long does the product stay cold after activation ?** A: I usually apply it at bedtime and I'm able to fall asleep using it. I'm guessing it stays cold about 2 hours at the most. I usually don't need to use another one during the night.
