Review: Works great - Our standard light switches are right behind the door which is very awkward, so I got this to make life easier, and it works and looks great. The panel has stuck to the wall just fine, and the magnetic button is secure but also easy to remove if required. It was very easy to pair, and I was able to do this via the phone app. It's a little clunky to control - it's got the obvious on/off on press, but also pressing more frequently will cycle through the different lighting modes. There's not much more they could have done with a single button so I'm not faulting them for this, I just quite commonly end up standing there for 10 seconds switching the lights on and off to get the correct brightness. I got one when it was reduced to £10 and I definitely regret not buying another. It feels well built and has quite a sturdy rubbery feel. If the price drops again I'll likely go for it, but it's the last gen model so I definitely don't want to paying a premium for it. It also comes with smaller sticky backing plate if you wanted to put it anywhere other than a wall, such as a hidden button under your table.

**Q: Could I use this as a doorbell? I would like to turn all the lights in the house Red when pressed, but revert to white when room switch is pressed**
A: I actually think that could work! You can program each button to do exactly that, so shouldn’t be a problem. Just need to make sure the doorbell one doesn’t get exposed to elements (rain)

**Q: Is this a smart plug or a smart button?**
A: It's a smart button you can mount on face plate using the magnets built in , or you can carry it around with you and with a simple press you can turn your lights on , hope that helps

**Q: Can this hue button control more than hue strip individually?**
A: Most Hue switches and accessories should be thought about in terms of actions - if 'Y' happens (i.e. someone presses a button) then do 'Z' - activate a scene, turn on a number of lights, an entire room.....

So short answer, assuming you have a Hue Bridge and the Hue App, is yes.

**Q: Can this turn on and off a hue smart plug? I have garden light’s connected to my hue smart plug and as well as the app would like a switch option.**
A: Not sure works with lights as far as i know when setting up doesnt show my plugs. But i have hue light switch which controls a zone and a plug is on that zone

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Nice addition to the Hue ecosystem, not worth it unless you already have the other accessories

Nifty little smart button to turn my Hue lights on/off in the living room, that's easy to set up and connect to your existing Hue ecosystem. I have the 1600lm coloured dimmable lights. Programmed it to change scenes on multiple clicks, 1 click = on/off, all subsequent clicks = cycle through the next scene (scenes have different colours and brightness), hold = dim/make brighter. It's handy for when I'm entering a room and want to quickly make it bright. The frame holder is a bit big and not something I'd want to install. The button itself is magnetic so you can attach it to the existing light plates (assuming there's something metallic to stick to). I've owned another button that I use in the bedroom and the battery seemed to have lasted for 3-4 years, but they're quite easy and cheap to replace. I'd recommend if you cannot install something to a wall directly as the button itself is portable and you can take it if you move. It's not the cheapest item but if you already have the Hue ecosystem (bridge and bulbs) then it's still worth having these physical buttons for convenience. They're expensive and hence why I haven't given it 5, and if I could, I'd install proper switches over these, and go with the remote instead (for physical), and use Siri from the smart home perspective.
