I have a bad habit of dropping electronics and haven't dropped this yet. It flips back as a stand. I really like that because i have arthritis in my hands and they cramp up frequently. If anyone has the kids kindles, this case is similar in texture to those cases. I've used cases before where the color from the case rubs off on my hands. That hasn't happened with this case. The main reason that I gave this product 5 stars is because my 2 year old threw the kindle across the room (a few times) and the case really did protect it. The reason for the 2 stars is because the is no "hole" for the audio jack/headphone. Which rendered this useless for us. I got this for protection but I also needed it to have a audio jack option. So we don't use it at all. Would recommend to the maker to add that in, especially since it's advertised as it made for the Fire HD.
