DERMagic Peppermint & Tea Tree Oil Shampoo, 18 fl oz

I have a standard poodle. He had 2 ACL surgeries when he was 2 years old and after being on a lot of antibiotics and other meds started chewing his paws and itching. He’s been on Apoquel and Cytopoint injections both which help somewhat but don’t seem to be as effective as they were at first. He chews and itches and has what we call Frito feet.. yes his feet smell like fritos and he has big black patches on his stomach under his front arms and around his anus! Lots of licking and scratching in those spots! I can bathe him and within a day started smelling again. I tried making my own dog food for 4 months and have used every shampoo including some from the vet on the shelf. I got this shampoo and after two times (one bath a week) we are starting to see a huge difference in the black patches and no more frito smell! I have to say the shampoo does not lather much but I make sure to get his underside where the black patches are and massage the shampoo into his paws between each toe! I actually used a different tea tree/ oatmeal shampoo on his head a back because he’s very large and trying not to use whole bottle on one application. The directions say to rinse repeat shampoo and then use conditioner which is how I did it! The is the first thing I’ve ever used that has helped in any way....definitely getting ready to reorder. Think I will get 4 applications out of one bottle but worth the price especially if it keeps us out of vets office! So happy to finally found something to help our big guy! I never write reviews but felt I really needed to share this

This stuff is amazing!!!! I ordered this after my dog's allergies got so bad that they were scratching until they bled. I didn't order it with high hopes because I've seen many vets who don't do much but I immediately gave them a bath and then put the lotion on, within 30 minutes they nearly stopped all scratching and the redness had faded on their skin. This stuff works like magic - just like the name says. I also used the conditioner and the lotion, and as long as it continues to work this well I'll definitely order again. As for people who say the products stink I absolutely LOVE the scent of the shampoo and conditioner, it smells like peppermint. The lotion doesn't stink to me but I can see where it would bother some people, it sort of smells like Bengay or some other muscle relaxer but not as strong. My dog's fur has never been so soft. I definitely recommend this product to all dog owners - with or without skin problems!!

I have tried tons of different shampoos and conditioners, sprays, diets and medicines for my dog's skin problems to no avail. I used one tea tree shampoo on my dogs that seemed to help but not by much even though I knew tea tree was good to use for dogs with skin issues. As I was running out of options of trying to either cure or severely lessen their skin irritations, I happened upon this product. Since I had had previous experience with a tea tree shampoo, it left me skeptical even with the reviews. However, since it wasn't an outrageous price for me, I decided to get the shampoo and conditioner to try. I followed the instructions on the bottles to bathe them once a week and shampoo them twice when I do (even though I didn't the very first time I used it as I had missed that). I have been using the products for a few months (purchased the products near the end of Nov 2015) and my dog's skin have change dramatically. While they do get a flare up in a small area (usually their hind leg) every once in a while, it is no where near as bad as before I started using this shampoo/conditioner and clears up, on its own I've noticed, in a few days. To put this in perspective, when they had a flare up that would quickly spread through out their body, it would last at least two months before their skin went back to normal, even with medication and medicated shampoo. This product is definitely MAGIC for my dogs and will be my main shampoo and conditioner for my dogs from now on!

I got this on the recommendation of several other people who had itchy dogs. I love it and will be buying more. I used it and made sure I really scrubbed it in and made sure to rinse it out well. The smell is wonderful and washes and rinses out well. I had been having trouble with other shampoos not making him smell clean for very long after I washed him but this stuff really has kept him smelling great. I bathed him a week ago and so far he still smells great. And as far as the itching goes I think it has really made a difference there as well. He seems much more comfortable. I am also rinsing him with a white vinegar rinse which helps but most of the credit goes to DERMagi Peppermint & Tea Tree Oil Shampoo. If you're not sure please don't hesitate. It really is a very good product. Update:6/11/2014 I really do love DERMagic Perppermint Tea Tree Oil Shampoo but I have to say for the best bang for your buck I'd go with the bar rather than the liquid. It seems to last much longer at least to me. And it's easier to rinse out. Either way you choose to go you'll be happy with the results you get from this product. I would still recommend it.

My pomeranian has really dry skin and has lost most of her fur. I started off using coconut oil warmed up in a spray bottle and saturated her fur and skin every other day. This helped a lot with the initial damaged skin. It almost looked black but it slowly started peeling away and pink fresh skin was healing. Her fur started growing back where the pink skin was showing through. Although the coconut oil was helping tremendously her skin still felt dry. I bought the shampoo, conditioner, and rescue lotion. I just washed her today and used the products and her skin is baby soft. This is the best her coat has felt in months! I will update when I have more info. It does have a strong essential oil smell to it but I don't mind at all. But so far so good! Worth the buy! I hope this helps anyone with a similar issue. I highly recommend buying a doggie onsie to keep the oil or lotion or whatever on your dogs skin, out of their mouths, and off of your furniture. Goodluck!

I have been using the DERMagic products on both of my dogs for yeast infections that occur from grooming clippers and or veterinary shaving prep. These products truly work to heal 'black skin', rusty paws, and hot spots that are all caused by yeast infection. This Peppermint & Tea Tree Oil Shampoo is absolutely wonderful in helping to slough off the dead black skin after using the DERMagic Rescue Lotion. This shampoo doesn't lather as much as I would like but it truly does an excellent job in washing away the dead skin and the "itch" that apparently goes along with it. My furry babies have never looked or smelled so clean and fresh as they do after a bath with this shampoo and conditioner. The conditioner with the same name works to soften their skin and makes their coat shinny and soft as silk. I plan to use this shampoo and conditioner for my pet's baths from now on to help prevent new yeast problems in the future and to keep them looking and feeling beautiful. I highly recommend all the DERMagic products for pet skin problems. They are the best products I've ever used and they really do what they promise.

I ordered the shampoo and got conditioner. The conditioner works well and smells nice. I use it for one of my poms who has hair loss on his tail and back ( black skin disease). It's a good product, and he loves when I put the lotion on his affected area, I just thought the shampoo was coming. I would give it a 5 if I had gotten the correct product I think. The conditioner is great.

This shampoo worked well the first time I used it on my dog who had itchy skin due to a yeast problem. It knocked down the yeast growth--actually stopped it in it's tracks. My dog stop scratching and was very comfortable. I do agree with other comments that it does not lather as much as other shampoos (maybe that's because it has mostly active ingredients rather that additives that make it lather, who knows). The one very minor I would just like to mention for the manufacturer is that the bottle (plastic) is a bit stiff/hard making it hard to squeeze the shampoo out of the bottle. It would help to make the bottle more "squeezable." Have already bought it again and will continue to do so.

My Pomeranian had hair loss, itchy , black disease skin after using this product all is gone .
