Razor sharp right out of the box!
I was pleasantly surprised at how sharp this was right out of the box. I guess the quality is what has come to be expected from Mora. Great fishing knife with a smart sheath that allows it to stay dry by allowing air flow. Highly recommended!

Another excellent knife from Mora
I love Mora knives, and this one does not disappoint. As usual, it's quality and finish for it's price point is excellent, as it is better made than a lot of more expensive knives of this type. A great value. I highly recommend it.

There are better scales but the knife is great
Title says it all. I've head/gutted hundreds of pan fish with this guy. Very sharp blade with excellent retention especially considering it has to cut through scales and spine. The scales part is functional but a standard fork or spoon in your kitchen drawer will perform better.

It’s a Mora. You just expect quality.
This is more of a processing knife rather than a filet style. It’s a Mora, which means it works, beautifully, perfectly. I use it constantly. If it were to wear out, I’d buy another. No questions about it.

Great for tackle box and kitchen!
The Morakniv Comfort Scaler 150 felt good from the start, having a comfortable handle very much like the Mora Companion, but with a thinner blade, like the Mora Craft knives (e.g., the 511 and 546). The 2 mm thickness is not enough difference from the Companion to improve the flexibility, but makes it a nice slicer. The longer blade, 150mm (almost 6 inches) compared to a Companion, at 104mm, is more useful for food prep, as well, and still has plenty of heft to decapitate a fish. The knife is called a scaler because it has a “toothed spine” which assists in removing fish scales, as compared to using a plain back-of-the-knife technique. The “teeth” looks a bit like serrations, but more like jimping, and feel like something in between. (not sharp enough to hurt your fingers or to scrape a ferro rod) This 3.5 inch (120mm) row of teeth is well-placed for scraping, right in the middle of the blade’s spine, which is otherwise smoothly finished. The sheath is more of a blade protector than scabbard, which takes less space in a tackle box because the two belt attachment options are removable. My preference is not to use them with this knife, but since they work with Morakniv Craft knife sheaths, they might come in handy elsewhere. Finally, the knife arrived very sharp (and shiny!) but I know that the Scandi grind, with its 6mm bevel will make finding the correct angle to sharpen it someday very easy – so easy, in fact, you can do it with your eyes closed. Maybe I should rephrase that. You can just feel it lying properly on your sharpening stone! Thank you for reading my review. I hope you found it helpful.

Trusty and dependable fishing fillet knife.
With a name like Mora the expectation is a quality knife that does not break the bank. This Mora honors its name with features not found on any of the other in the line. The knife is light but not lightweight. It is not full tang, rather partial like other Moras. You should use a knife to baton, and if you do this is not a knife to baton with. It is a fillet knife and excels at that slicing chicken, beef cuts, and fish with ease and no sharpening needed out of the box (clam shell package). The blade is sturdy with enough flex for the intended task and I would not hesitate to use this knife for other tasks beyond slicing. The serrated edge does a competent job at descaling fish. Ergonomics are excellent with the rubber handle staying in the hand and not getting slippery. The sheath is a weirs open sheath that is designed to allow the knife to dry out in it. However it feels flimsy and and when slipping the knife in the first few times it feels as if it going to cut through and slice your hand open. I suggest to use a lot of care when sheathing and un-sheathing the knife, and it does get a bit easier but to me it feels as if it is going to break sooner or later if not careful. I simply use a BPS knives leather sheath, as it is never advisable to sheath a wet knife anyways. When on the water I may switch to its original sheath, maybe. The sheath does come with two different belt attachments. This is a good Mora that will not disappoint. The sheath is its weakest point, and it is because of its designed purpose rather than a money saving oversight. The knife outshines the sheath’s weaknesses, and it is a good purchase if you are on the market for a trusty dependable fishing fillet knife.

Morakniv are solid knives. This one is no exception. Very sharp. Its not flexible though but I was looking more for something that keeps an edge for cutting elk and moose and this was perfect for my needs

Great knife, comfortable handle, fantastic blade, razor sharp out of the box. The de-scaler could come in handy, while I have a Rapala and a Shakespeare; I wanted a Mora.

Sharp as can be. Good all around knife to bring fishing. Scaler seems a bit useless haven't been able to get it to scale anything but maybe that's a skill issue.
