Compact and aggressive
There's a break in period with how aggressive it is but this is an excellent rasp. I'm a union carpenter and hang drywall daily mon-fri. Tajima makes quality tools

but this works great for that scenario
Quickly and efficiently removes the material from the edge of the sheetrock. I mostly use it when I mess up a cut by less than a quarter inch. Doesn't happen too often, but this works great for that scenario. The heavy teeth have a guide on the sides that grab the edges of the board when rasping it, so you don't slip off, and due to it's length, it averages out rough cuts pretty effectively, making your cut a little more straight if it's off angle in some cases. The teeth are still going strong, I've done 2 home remodels with this rasp and they still have a good bite to them. The grips on the sides are good enough, and provide a sturdy grip even for heavy material removal. Highly recommended, I keep it in my tool pouch whenever I hang sheetrock, so long as my co-workers haven't borrowed it.

Works great, very handy!
Hi, I used this rasp when putting up drywall in a couple rooms in my house. I was very please with the performance. It works just as advertised. Here are some notes for you: - The coarse teeth remove material very quickly. You can take off a 1/4 inch or more with just a few passes. - The fine teeth create a really uniform edge and leave the paper in nice shape. - Ergonomics are good. The rasp is easy and comfortable to hold. It may very well get dull after extended use but it's doing a good job for me so far. Regards, John

Great rasp, but please widen the rough channel in future versions.
This product is outstanding. How often do you really have to use fine teeth and corner detail rasps anyway? The key is the channel with the deep teeth to clear chunks. This rasp in incredible. In the future, Tajima, please widen the channel so that it can be used on core board. If this thing could be used on core board it would catch five stars from me. It would also mean that I wouldn't have to have a crappy surform handy in case your awesome rasp can't cut the mustard. TAJIMA...WIDEN THE CHANNEL FOR CORE BOARD. Also, going back to my earlier comment, who needs the fine teeth on the flush side. Drywall is not piano-building. PLEASE make those teeth the rough ones, for outside corners or flush rasping to framing. Come on. You're supposed to be the idea people and providers of awesome practical stuff, not me. The corner teeth I can see, for scrubbing down paper on inside corners if you need to, to keep tapers from nitpicking about stupid stuff. 4.8/5

Durable
I’m a fan of Tajima tools, this will not disappoint you. All of the stuff I’ve bought from them has worked. Everything from chalk lines to plumb bobs It just works, not the highest quality materials but, they don’t have to be. Tools take a lot of abuse from the job sites as it is, nothing comes back without some scars. Tajima keeps working until it’s time to buy a new one

Best value and product for the job
Last time I purchased this , it was about 25 months ago and I finally just purchased this new and improved one inch slot. You can now rasp shaft wall too, in the groove. If you use the part that is flat you can rasp to pieces of rock at once. I think this is the best rasp I ever owned. I have been a union carpenter for 9 years and have used most rasp out there. This is the best! Doesn’t get your hand tired because it’s comfortable in your hand. Would highly recommend this product.

Way better than other rasps! It’s got both a fine edge file to dial in an edge as well as a more aggressive rasp to take off a lot of material quickly. Compact and ergonomic. Fits well in my tool belt and lightweight. The dust is collected in the handle and comes out the side so it works well without creating a mess. Total pleasure to use! Spend the extra and get this vs the Home Depot one
