I get chemical straightening treatments approximately once every 6-9 months via the Matrix Opti Smooth system, resistant formula. I wash my hair 1-2 days per week and style it with the Revlon voluminizer blow dry brush and a BabyLiss Pro flat iron.I purchased this shampoo and conditioner set based on previous experience with the ICON product line. My stylist had recommended a leave-in conditioning treatment from them which I absolutely loved. However, since I only wash my hair 1-2 times a week, it takes a while for me to finish a set before I tried this one.Overall, I am pleased with the product. The actual shampoo and conditioner is a light purple color and smells fantastic. I like how the shampoo is strong enough to penetrate the multi-day build up and leaving it with a clean feeling, without over drying. Recently there has been a package change. It goes further than the package to the product itself. Both shampoo and cream rinse are watered down considerably. That’s the only way I can describe it. It takes almost five times as much product to produce a wimpy lather. The cream rinse is equally reduced.I don’t know the logic behind the changes. If it is to increase the profit margin, ruining a fabulous product will not work. The funny thing is we have totally different hair types. Mine is very fine, and tends to react to humidity by frizzing, her's is medium to thick texture. I love this shampoo and conditioner, having used it only twice. So the test will be after a couple more weeks whether or not it builds up and causes my hair to lay flat, which I hate. My daughter says it has stopped her from shedding so badly. That is why I wanted to try it as I drop hair all over the place.
