This is not a chalk board. It is purely decorative. You cannot write on it. Not happy with my purchase. It is ok if you are just looking for something decorative but I wanted a chalkboard.

These are adorable! Just what I wanted. I ordered 3. I used a paint pen to write their names. I don't want to constantly have to rewrite them.
