The longer one worked a week and quit. The battery cover on the shorter one broke inside the thermometer and allowed grease in and it quit working after about one month. I've ordered these in the past and they worked much better than this.

I have had this and used it for almost 3 years now with zero problems. It has been accurate to within. 0.1 of a degree (I have to pass a calibration check every week where I work and it tests at 32.1 every time). Today I accidentally dropped it in a 350* deep fryer. It was submerged in the oil for probably a solid minute before I was able to obtain some tongs and fish it out. Guess what.....it still works perfectly and is just as accurate as it ever was. I cannot recommend this instrument enough!

A nice, accurate and easy to read thermometer probe. Fits nicely in a chef jacket pocket. Just be easy on the clip, it will eventually break.

Small is good for this item!
