Great even in rain
Great lubricant on the chain and easily rinses clean after rides without mess. Lasts well and doesn't seem to fling any gunk on you when you get a good speed going like many chain lubes tend to do, and then stain where they land on fabric. Works great wet or dry conditions and only caveat is dirt sticks on sandy/dusty dry dirt trails where dirt clouds linger behind you. Be sure to rinse after each ride and it is fine.

FINISHLINE CERAMIC WET LUBE
I have not received my Finish Line Ceramic Wet lube 32oz jug yet...It is being delivered at the writing of this review....BUT here is my personal opinion and take on this product... First of all I am well familiar with "Ceramic Technology" because I use ceramic cartridge bearings in all of my wheel hubs, rear derailleur pulley wheels and any component that I use on my "Custom Built" black 2012 Catrike 700 Racing Recumbent....When I saw that there was a lube with the "Ceramic" properties added in it, it was a "NO BRAINER" for me!!!...As for the comments about the lube turning "BLACK", well my regular wet lube I use right NOW does the SAME thing on my Wipperman 10-speed "Gold/Brass" colored chains inwhich I KEEP wet lube on a regularly basis and besides I am waiting on my (3) Wipperman Connex Special Edition 10-speed "Black" chains which will work "perfect" with the Finish Line Ceramic Wet Lube!!!! Note: My "Custom" 2012 Catrike 700 Racing Recumbent is a "Black" color "Trike" accented in "RED", which I called "The Black Widow" so that is the reason I decided to set up the drivetrain with the (3) Wipperman Connex Special Edition 10-speed "Black" chains from Amazon.com which had a good price on the chains.....The Catrike 700 Racing Recumbent requires at least (3) three 114 link chains for the "Drivetrain"....NOW since the last review of this product AND now a LONG PERIOD OF USE OF THIS PRODUCT...THIS IS MY PERSONAL EVALUATION...First of all, this is the BEST lube for Chaina and Drive system of any cycle...My personal experience that I did notice that my drive system was MORE Quartier/less noisier and did not need large amounts of lube for the chain/drive system and shifting was sweet and SMOOTH!!!...In fact, I use a Syringe designed for filling printer ink cartridges, and using LESS then a DROP of the lube on EACH lINK of the chain and also use it on my OTHER component on my Trike..etc. derailleur. brake levers and ALL moving parts on my rig!!!NOTE:I also notice that the Finish Line Wet Ceramic was EASY to clean off of my hands and Trike/Recumbent components...Note: I am a person who believes in keeping my rig clean, SO after EVERY ride, I wash and lube my Catrike 700 Racing Recumbent, getting it READY THE NEXT RIDE..I always get comments and complements from other Cyclist on how exceptionally CLEAN my rig and Drive System is!!!....I need to mention that the Finish Line Wet Ceramic Lube is VERY light and NOT HEAVY like OTHER lubes on the market AND it does exactly what it is advertised to do!!...I HIGHLY RECOMEND THIS LUBE FOR ANY AVID CYCLIST WHO LIKES TO KEEP THIER RIGS IN TIP TOP SHAPE!!!!

the chain lube for the Gulf Coast
In south Louisiana, near the Gulf Coast, the humidity rarely drops below 80%, it rains at least weekly and sometimes daily. My bike is in a leaky shed and not a garage. Rust is a persistent problem. I have tried dry, Teflon, and wax chain lubes. These are probably great for New Mexico and Arizona, but not for south Louisiana. After a couple of years of experimenting with different recommendations, I finally tried Finish Line Ceramic Wet Bicycle Chain Lubricant. I started with a new chain, cassette, and this lubricant. When used as directed, the results immediately astonished me: * It produced the quietest chain I ever had. I had not realized how noisy it was until the noise was gone. * It repels water better than anything I ever used, and therefore prevents rust longer between applications. * It reduced the drivetrain resistance so much that I could immediately go one gear higher on the same roads that I have been traveling for years. * The longer I have used it, the longer I can go between applications. Even experimenting on an old rusty chain, the difference is immediately noticeable. I have found the ideal lubricant for my environment and am not going to be switching any time soon! Update on 7/21/2013 The first bottle I ever ordered was in June 16, 2012 and the second on December 22, 2012. My first bottle is about used up, so I am about to order another bottle as a backup. This is still the most effective chain lubricant I have ever used and I have no compelling reason to switch. I recently was not able to ride for about 2 months straight. When I got back on my bike, I expected the chain to be stiff with at least some rust, as with other lubricants I had used before. However, the shifting and pedaling was just as quiet and smooth as the day I had last cleaned and applied fresh lubricant.

The Anti-KISS Lube - Good Performance but Unnecessary and Irritating
After using nearly all of a 4 ounce bottle of this stuff, I'm left unimpressed. My drivetrain efficiency, smoothness, quietness, longevity and overall operation hasn't improved by switching to the 'Ceramic' formula. This stuff reminds me a bit of Lance Armstrong: a great all-rounder but it has some dirt. I was previously using the Finish Line 'Wet' formula, and it performed marvelously with every road/weather condition I could throw at it. The 'Wet' is a great all-rounder without the issues, more like Greg LeMond. However, I'm also relatively meticulous when it comes to drivetrain maintenance. Depending on the conditions -- susceptible to indoor training sessions -- I thoroughly clean my drivetrain components after every 60 to 120 miles. That said, the formulation of the 'Ceramic' lube has had negligible if any positive impact. I suppose if you're a maintenance nut like I am, then it really doesn't matter what formula or brand of lube you use; and you can K.I.S.S (keep it [your lube] simple stupid). I've docked a star for a couple reasons. Firstly, and despite the marketing copy which informs me that the visible buildup of dark and nasty looking particulates is okay, I can't help but be disconcerted when I see this. Maybe it is, indeed, nothing to worry about concerning the longevity of my components. Maybe the buildup is -- as the copy states -- an visible indication of a protective barrier. But given my strict maintenance rituals, a chain that's almost constantly dirty is a chain that worries me. The 'Wet' formula gets dirty, yes. But it takes a long while for road grime to accumulate upon the 'Wet' stuff; and when it gets bad enough, I clean it and reapply. Secondly, when I received the new bottle of the 'Ceramic' stuff, I had to vigorously shake it for the better part of a half-hour in order to reintroduce the ceramic particles into the liquid carrier. These ceramic particles had settled and combined into a mass at the bottom of the bottle. After almost 1 year of use, there remains at the bottom of the bottle a small amount of ceramic particles. I shake the bottle before every use. If the bottle weren't translucent, I would have never known that so much of the key ingredient had settled into an useless clump. The 'Wet' formula stays mixed. . . always. . . no worrying about consistency. All in all, the 'Ceramic' formula is good. It performs well in all conditions. But its unique properties also make it an unnecessary nuisance. If I could perform a scientific study comparing the 'Ceramic' to the 'Wet' within 100 mile intervals, I would confidently hypothesize that insignificant differences exist between the two regarding protection, lubrication, and mechanical efficiency. If you're like me, and you thoroughly cleanse your drivetrain every 60 to 120 miles in order to keep it in peak operational condition, then the 'Ceramic' formula may simply be unnecessary and rather irritating.

The best I've tried
I've been cycling for years and tried many different lubes. This is by far my favorite. It goes on easily, and after drying forms a sticky film that lasts a very long time. I guess it picks up some dirt and dust, but I've honestly never had a lube that doesn't. If an oily wet lube is wet enough to work, it is wet enough to absorb dirt. Dry lubes just leaves waxy crud on everything and never seems to lubricate well enough. This slightly tacky lube seems to be less messy than either an oily wet lube or a cruddy dry lube, but it lasts way, way longer. I can actually wipe clean the side plates and outer surfaces of a chain several times while the inside surfaces still seem sticky and well lubricated. One thing to note is that this lube needs to dry in order to be at it's best. I try to apply it and then let it sit a while before a ride. After the carrier fluid evaporates, I lightly wipe any excess off the chain. If I must apply it right before a ride I just wipe the excess after I am done riding. It's pretty obvious when the lube is dry because it changes from watery to a sticky film. By cleaning off excess lube it helps minimize dirt build up, while still providing very good, and very long lasting lubrication. I've tried a lots of lube before this one. This Finish Line Ceramic really stood out as superior and is the only thing I buy anymore.

I'm Happy
I think this stuff works well. Honestly, I see very little practical difference among wet chain lubes. Every one I've ever used has prevented squeaking and rust. However, there is one property that does tend to vary product to product, and that is viscosity. Too thin and it drips off your chain. Too thick and it doesn't "sink" into the links properly. This is where Finish Line's product excels. It sits right in the sweet spot. Soaks in nicely but doesn't drip out. After a quick wash, lube and wipe, my chains always look great. Would definitely buy again. ***My Rating Criteria*** 5 STARS: Works exactly as advertised, fit/finish are what you'd expect when purchasing this type of product, good value, ships in retail packaging 4 STARS: Works exactly as advertised, fit/finish are what you'd expect when purchasing this type of product, might have a minor flaw or ships in undisclosed non-retail packaging 3 STARS: Generally works but I'd change a few things OR Product works great but differs from description/images 2 STARS: Barely works but can be made useful if you try 1 STAR: Useless, does not perform it's intended function whatsoever and is generally a waste of money

Worth it
Great for city cycling with my mountain bike. I leave it outside and it rains fairly often so this lube is pretty ideal when it comes to keeping the lag off of your physical momentum while doing long distances. I make 28km every weekday and I've only applied it once since I got it. Last a few weeks through rain storms, I'm very surprised how well it's working. Bit pricey to order after ya ea and shipping expenses plus blahblahblah but I'm ultimately satisfied. Do not buy this though if you plan to cycle through dirt paths. This review and product is for city cycling only! It's meant for wet conditions like water puddles and rain. The lube deflects moisture like a hot butter knife though butter. If that makes any sense. Though it will stick to dust, so if you're planing to cycle in every environment, I recommend you look for the middle ground lube.

Decent quality
I am by any means not an expert on lubes, but I liked this one. It flows very easily and penetrates into the chain links. I cleaned off the chain from my previous dry lube, and had to apply a bit more on my first application. I recommend applying a drop to each chain link. On the lube website they also mention another method: squirting it onto the chain as it rotates. Do not use this method as it will coat everything: the derailleur the cassette, and that will attract a lot of dirt. I noticed that my chain does get a bit more dirty, but I only have to clean and re-lube it about every 200 miles. I make this kind of distance in about a week to a week and a half. Also the lube is white in the bottle, but the chain will become black after several days of cycling. The blackness is just inherent to the lube and is not caused by dirt. This lube is very easy to remove using simple orange degreaser. Oh, I also lubricated the housing for my brake cables, it works wonderfully for that.

Ottimo
