Even after a short, slow, drive home, that rotor was 470F and the other side was 144F. The car had been driven "normally" a day or two before this, and I'm sure it got significantly hotter than 470F. I rebuilt the caliper, but was concerned about rotor warpage. Thanks to this gauge, I was able to determine the rotor is indeed now out of spec - but just barely. The run-out limit is 0.05mm (0.002in), this gauge has it at 0.06mm. I don't feel any pulsation in the brakes, so the rotor can stay. I already knew there was some warping, but there's peace of mind in knowing how much. I'm really glad I got the metric version on this gauge.
