I have two turtles that live with this filter and I’ve never had any issue at all. **Q: Can I get the cord wet? And do I have to fully submerge it?** A: It doesn't work fully submerged. I attempted it. **Q: Does this work for aquariums that use sand in the bottom instead of rocks?** A: I feel like it will work with sand, but it might get caught on the filter and you have to clean it more often I use seashells and gravel and marbles.
