A must have for 5+ players!
The amazing base game of Scythe comes with a double sided board. One side is the complete board and on the back is 2/3 of an enlarged board. This board is the last 3rd of that larger side. You set it against the edge and boom! Bigger board! Which is great if you get the "invaders from afar" expansion which adds the last 2 factions (and 2 more players to the table) to the base game. Stonemire Games always produce high quality games and pieces, this board is no exception. It is beautiful and works great. Never had ant problems with it moving or warping on the table. This is a must have for any Scythe game over 5 players. All the mechs and workers get to be too much for the smaller board. You do need a good sized table though!

A great add-on for Scythe
I have had my eye on this board expansion for a while, but held off because it wasn't absolutely necessary - my game group is typically only 4 people, so I figured the regular board was fine. Well, I finally splurged on the board expansion, and my game group loved it. The bigger hexes make everything seem more epic, and there's way more room for all the pieces. After playing with the board expansion, the regular side seems tiny. For the price, this really enhances the Scythe experience.

Makes Scythe much easier to play
Pretty much our only complaint about Scythe was not enough board space, but the extension makes it the perfect size (as long as your table is big enough).

Totally worth the money!
Got this for our first game of Scythe. Since there were five of us playing I was worried about the board getting a little crowded. If you have the space this is a must! It made the game board so much easier to navigate. I don't even think I'd play a two-player game without it.

Sometimes Bigger IS Better, This is One of Those Times
Great addition to Scythe. Love the added space for Mechs, etc. The additional table space the board takes up isn't that significant. I don't have a particularly large table and I still have plenty of room.

If you're addicted to Scythe, it's worth it.
I know what you're thinking, "Am I really about to buy a single panel of a trifold board for an already obnoxiously large board game?" I once was like you. But you must ask yourself another, more important question, "Do I love Scythe with all my heart?" If the answer is yes, then you will realize the importance of this purchase. In truth, this is an extravagance. It's not necessary to play the game, and it will not change anything severely. However, if you've already picked up The Wind Gambit or Invaders from Afar and have started having 5+ player games, it is a very helpful addition. Big components fit better on the board and everyone is spaced out much more evenly. That being said, you need to make sure your table is big enough to accommodate this board and everyone's player mats. So long as it is, prepare to live your alternate history European steam punk dreams. If you're not playing a lot of Scythe, then this probably isn't for you. But if you have dedicated hours to it already, you'll begin to wonder how you ever played with the smaller board.

Must Have
The Scythe board game has two sides. Ones is the standard size that has everything on it, and the other side is a blown up version of the board with much more space for units and resources. However it's not the full board. Because it's so big, about 1/4 of it is missing. That is what this item does, it provides the last 1/4 of the board you need. Once we played with the bigger board size, we never went back to the standard. Its not ideal that you have to pay more for this board expansion (that is all it does, is complete the bigger board) but its worth it.

Use it with the Wind Gambit expansion
Absolutely nothing bad to say about it. Sure, it's not vital to gameplay and doesn't technically add any new functionality to the game, but it's quite lovely to play on the big version of the board if you happen to have twelve dollars and some extra table space. I got it for my partner and now he only plays Scythe using the large version of the board. You get to appreciate the board's art a bit more easily, and have more space for all your units and resources. The airship expansion can make a Sycthe game quite crowded, so the larger board is especially nice for that, and almost certainly worth it if you're a person who enjoyed the game enough to also get the Wind Gambit expansion.
