New 12 Volt Conversion Solenoid Relay for Ford 2N 8N 9N Tractor 8N-11450, SW218, SW355

This solenoid uses a 12 "+" signal to initiate the relay. Not the "-" (neg) signal used by the tractor. It nessitates using a relay and rewiring the start circuit if you want to keep the factory case mounted start switch. Otherwise you have to install another switch somewhere on the machine and run wiring to the switch and then to the starter. I WOULD NOT HAVE PURCHASED THIS RELAY HAD I KNOWN THAT I HAD TO REWIRE MY MACHINE TO USE IT. it is easy enough to do but i wanted to convert to 12v and stay using the factory style wiring for originalitys sake.

It works. But it uses NEGATIVE switching. Our tractor was wired for positive switching. Be careful. 4 stars because this was not stated in the description.

This part didn't work upon arrival. I had to ship it back to get my refund. A big waste of time.
