Is the cistanche wild harvested or cultivated?

Unknown as to whether the plant was wild harvested or cultivated. It is not stated on the package. You would have to contact manufacturer. I did not experience any noticeable or measurable benefits from taking this concentrated brand.

5:1 and 10:1 which is the strongest

Well, I'm not a chemist, but with extracts usually a ratio of 10:1 would mean that ten parts of the original plant went into producing just one part of the final extract. If that's the case then a ratio of 10:1 would be twice as potent as a ratio of 5:1. Consider both packages have the same amount of product (weighs the same). The package with the ratio of 10:1 concentrated twice as much of the original herb into the same amount of resulting product as did the ratio of 5:1..

are heaby metals and chemicals removed?

Interesting....I reviewed again the description on the Amazon site which says" 20:1 Concentrated Extract - EASY to use (Scoop, Mix, Drink) *Potent, Pure & Effective! *Highest Grade Source *Heavy Metals, Chemicals and other Contaminants *Comes with Measuring Scoop! I assume a typo here as it should logically say "NO heavy metals, Chemical and other contaminants" Regardless the pack information does not show any other additions. I take this to mean it is pure herbal root extract. I have used this product regularly with the described benefits. You can clarify with the supplier though. Hope this helps.

I'm a retired acupuncturist/herbalist and treating myself (yeah, not a great idea usually), needed a yang tonic to complement some other herbs. Cistanche is perfect for me as it is strong but gentle and has little of the risks that some of the "harsher" yang tonics pose. Within a few days of adding this to my regime I felt a subtle calm and a bit deeper sleep. Looking forward to increasing benefits. I do suggest starting slowly as tonifying take time for the body to process. I started w/ 1/4 tsp and after a couple weeks bumped up to 1/2 tsp.
