This is great oil but the scent isn't as good as the bottle I bought a few years ago. The mechanism to let the oil flow out of the bottle is too small. I have to beat it on my palm 50 times to get a tiny bit of oil out. It is a nice dry oil with a good scent but I am going to search for a stronger scent (like the old LS&B oil).

I'd never heard of the "Lock Stock & Barrel" brand before testing this product, so I conducted a bit o' research. Now I kinda feel stupid for never having heard of them before. Allow me to share (if you don't already know): Turns out, like many cool things, they're British. And they espouse manufacturing "cruelty-free" products, meaning they're certified cruelty free by the Cruelty Free International Humane Cosmetics Standard and the Leaping Bunny program. D'aww. And then - wait for it - Queen Elizabeth II awarded Lock Stock & Barrel Grooming Company a Queen's Award for Enterprise in 2016. This is apparently the highest official honour a British company can receive. So there. Back to the product itself: at $35 an ounce, this beard oil is almost liquid gold. I enlisted the help of a couple of bearded testers. It is, however, impressive in its ability to soften hair and moisturize and prepare the skin for a clean shave which helps to reduce irritation. Fantastic. Don't fear the dry shave - it's great by all accounts although it takes a bit getting used to mentally. Ladies have been shaving their legs with just Almond Oil or coconut oil for ages. The smell of this Lock Stock & Barrel Beard Oil is kind of like rich car leather - it's the pricey Argan oil talking. It is a blend, mixed with some other fancy oils: Starflower, Abyssinian, Oilseed rape, Goid-of-Pleasure and British Blackcurrant seed oil. In sum, this is a unique, luxurious product by a conscientiously British company. A dry shave is the way to go and this product makes it possible. It's a bit wallet-stretching at $35 for the one ounce but worth it. This is a solid recommend all around, chaps!

After trying the hair sculpting product and not being able to handle the scent, plus having had prior issues with the scent of argan oil we didn't think we would like this. BIG surprize. It's actually a very pleasant scent and the oil really leaves the skin a lot softer than before. The bottle seems so small but it takes very little to work into the skin and using it on a 5 oclock shadow makes for a great early morning snuggle. It's pricey for our budget but it's a British product so it will command the higher price here in North America.Actually enjoy this product.

My husband is a big fan of this beard oil. It has a great scent. It’s not overly fragranced or girly, making it one of his favourites for that reason. It makes a great shave barrier and is non greasy, it doesn't take long for the oil to absorb. It gives the beard a healthy glow without the greasy look some other oils leave behind. There’s nothing worse than a beard oil that leaves the beard feeling heavy with residue. The glass container it comes in has a dropper top similar to that of essential oils which prevents the user from pouring out too much. A little bit goes a long way. This oil is definitely worth the higher price tag, we will be picking this up again.

This stuff smells fantastic – I don’t know how to describe the smell, but think of an extremely refreshing (aloe-based?) luxurious leather conditioner. I know that doesn’t sound the best, but this really does smell good. The lid of the glass bottle unscrews, revealing a dropper which restricts flow. While it looks exactly the same as the dropper on my Bull Dog beard oil, it restricts flow way too much (possibly the oil is thicker?). This is annoying, as it makes you really work to get the oil out. Although not as classy, I much prefer the pump-style bottles, including the ones used by Natural Man. Once applied to my beard, it is less glossy than other oils I’ve used. This oil doesn’t seem to do a better – or worse – job softening than other oils I’ve used, but because of the lack of gloss, I will be able to use it more often – hopefully leading to a softer beard. I don’t use beard oils for shaving purposes, so I can’t comment on that. Overall, although I really like the oil, the bottle and high price tag are huge detractors for me. I don’t see myself buying this in the future unless the bottle was redesigned and/or price significantly lowered.
