After a few uses the dimensions of the red (scrubbing) part is 49 x 6 cm; the black handles are each 19cm long. I do not know the composition of the red material but it is coarse and slightly elasticated. The country or origin is not marked but it bears an "Al Hoor" trademark (so maybe Moroccan as advertised.

Does this require soaking for 10 minutes every time you use it, or just when its brand new?

Hi The product does not require soaking for 10 minutes. You just need to soak in water for a few seconds. However we recommend soaking your skin in hot water for 2 to three minutes to allow it to open the pores and prepare it for exfoliation. Hope this answers your question

What is this material?

The manufacturer of this product did not Include any information about the materials used. So I am unable to help except I sense it is made from synthetic fibres. I thought I was buying strap for washing. Its use is for removing dry skin.

Is it machine washable?

I'd recommend you wash it by hand. I Just use my fingers to thoroughly rub off any dead skin or skin gunk under a cold running tap. It does the job pretty well. After washing, gently stretch it out a bit to get its original width back as much as possible I wouldn't recommend washing in the machine as these materials shrink and may not fair well in the machine.
