10 inch Round Honing Steel

For the price I was extremely impressed at the quality of this sharp stick. Coming from an individual that does high volumes of prep and even cutting on stainless.. this is what I recommend for all professionals or even those cooking at home. great value for the money. Looks premium, feels premium.

A good quality and attractive sharpening steel. The fine diamond finish allows me to keep a fine edge on ceramic knives. Works great on the other knives too. I liked it well enough to get my grandson one as a gift.

Was even better than I expected it to be. Does a really good job of honing a blade also.

This is an excellent sharpening/honing steel,. Note this is not just a "straightening" steel, like the steels typically bundled with knife set blocks. Instead of a straightening steel, I use this honing steel on my knives regularly to ensure my knives maintain a very sharp final edge. The sharpening surface is a very fine grit, the 12 inch length is ideal for effective edge sharpening on longer knives, and the larger diameter ensure ample surface for comfortable use when using.

Just what I needed. I could have spent $100 but thought that was too much for the few kitchen knives that I have. $40 for this product seemed fair. When I opened the box and and ran my hand over the cutting surface (it says 3000 grit in the description) it seemed very smooth and I wondered if I had made a mistake. After just about 10 or 15 strokes per side I was able to cut paper with my Pampered Chef knife. Even though it is a very fine grit it sharpens very quickly. After one attempt I'm very pleased with my choice. I hope it lasts and expect it will. Seems well manufactured.

This is a replacement for my worn 8 year old steel…should have replaced it 2 years ago, but you know how that goes. I keep my kitchen knives sharp to very sharp and the old steel was just not up to the task. Four to five passes per side with this new steel and my knife went from sharp to VERY sharp. Sharpening Tip: apply firm but not Gorilla firm pressure, the lighter the better for most kitchen knife blade steels. If this sharpening steel is still functional 6 years from now it deserves a 5th star.

Handle arrives loose but can be screwed tight very easily.
