Manfrotto PIXI Mini Tripod: The Mighty Mini of the Camera World
Enter the Manfrotto PIXI Mini Tripod, a tiny titan in the realm of camera support. This isn't just a tripod; it's a pocket-sized Hercules, ready to elevate your photography game literally and figuratively. Crafted with the finesse of a master jeweler, the PIXI exudes quality that belies its diminutive size. Its legs, sturdy as the pillars of Olympus, provide a stable base for your photographic endeavors, whether you're capturing the urban wilderness or the actual wilderness. The design is so sleek, it could probably win a beauty contest against other tripods. But it's not just a pretty face. The PIXI is as functional as it is beautiful, with a ball head mechanism that's smoother than a jazz tune on a lazy Sunday afternoon. Adjusting your camera angle becomes an exercise in elegance. And let's talk about portability. This mini tripod is so compact, it could fit in your coat pocket, ready to be whipped out faster than a magician's rabbit. It's the ideal companion for the mobile photographer, the vlogger on the go, or anyone who values the mantra 'travel light, shoot right'. The PIXI isn't just about holding cameras, though. It's a statement. It declares that you're serious about your photography, but you also know life's too short for heavy, cumbersome gear. TL;DR: The Manfrotto PIXI Mini Tripod is a marvel of miniaturization, blending impeccable design with robust functionality. It's perfect for photographers and videographers who understand that the best tripod is the one you actually bring with you – and with the PIXI, you'll never want to leave it behind.

Stable, High Quality, and Lightweight Mini Tripod with Adjustability and Sturdiness
One of the standout features of this tripod is its stability. Despite its small size, it is able to hold my compact system camera steady and keep it in place, even when taking shots in windy or unsteady conditions. This has been a major plus, as I often find myself shooting in outdoor environments where stability is key. In terms of quality, the Manfrotto PIXI Mini Tripod is top-notch. It is made in Italy with a combination of technopolymer and aluminium, and the materials and construction are top-notch. It feels sturdy and well-made, and I have confidence that it will hold up well over time. Another aspect of the Manfrotto PIXI Mini Tripod that I really appreciate is its light weight. It weighs just over a pound, which makes it easy to carry around with me wherever I go. This has been particularly helpful when traveling, as I don't have to worry about lugging a heavy tripod around with me. The Manfrotto PIXI Mini Tripod is also very adjustable, which has been a great feature for getting the perfect shot. The tripod has three legs that can be positioned independently, and the ball head allows for easy adjustment of the camera angle. This has made it easy to get the shot I want, no matter where I'm shooting.

Compact tripod that’s stronger than it looks
This mini tripod is small enough to carry everywhere but feels surprisingly sturdy once set up. It works well as both a tabletop stand and a handheld grip for video. Hold capacity: Supports compact cameras securely. Versatility: Works as tripod or handgrip. Length: Compact and travel-friendly. Sturdiness: Solid build with minimal wobble. Height: Good height for tabletop shooting. Flexibility: Quick angle adjustments are easy.

Made of Plastic, not Aluminium, but gets the job done.
I bought this tripod specifically because it was billed as being made of aluminium, but it is quite clearly plastic. If any part of this is aluminium, then maybe the ball of the ball head, which includes the photographic standard 1/4"-20 tpi threaded stud for mounting a camera or other equipment is, but certainly not any of the rest. That's a little disappointing, and cause enough to take a star off my review. If it were made of aluminium, then it would get a full 5 stars, for what it is. Obviously, there are sturdier tripods on the market, for a lot more money, size, and weight. That being said, I bought this tripod to hold a field recorder on a tabletop when making remote recordings and using it as a headphone amplifier for practicing with my musical instruments on the road. Having a tabletop tripod is important so that the microphones can be angled correctly and so that it will have a stable base for plugging in cables to external sources and headphones for monitoring, and it seems to be strong enough to do the job. The weight and size is good for portability and travel. Attaching the field recorder (or a camera) to the tripod is a little fiddly, because there's no detente on the ball head at top dead center, and no separate way to twist the threaded stud into the fitting. I can easily angle the recorder up to about 40° tilt in either direction, which is generally enough for tabletop use, and it's a simple enough matter to grasp one leg of the tripod with my left hand while pushing the button with my left thumb to release the ball head, so that I can position the recorder with my right hand. The PIXI is the right height to allow standard XLR or 1/4" phone jack cables to be plugged into my field recorder without fouling them on the table surface, as I would do when recording from external sources. and the base seems wide enough to be stable with that amount of weight pulling on the recorder. For those who haven't been professional photographers or audio engineers in their lives, Manfrotto is one of the most respected names in photographic accessories, and I have owned and used their products for decades without failure. This is a company that professionals trust, which is another reason why I chose this model.

GREAT little tripod! Don't fall for the knock-offs!
If you're not familiar with the Manfrotto brand (I wasn't), this is the original version of this tripod. The dozens of similar tripods you've seen at half the price are cheap knock-offs. Unlike the copycats, this tripod features WEIGHTED legs. This provides the extra stability needed to prevent the tripod from dumping your equipment into dirt, and helps keep lightweight devices from being shifted around by the wind. The tripod is only weighted to hold 1 kilogram, but in use it will hold much more. The ball head adjustment mechanism is also more robust. Depressing a spring-loaded button allows you to effortlessly reposition the camera. The ball has tiny ribs all over it, which get tightly gripped and lock the mount down very solidly. I can't force it to move by hand if the button isn't depressed; my camera doesn't stand a chance of budging it. The knock-offs are not so well built, and you may or may not experience some slippage once you've lined up your shot. The design is fantastic. I purchased this tripod to use it for indoor macro photography, but I will end up using it for much more--possibly more often than my full-sized tripod. The legs swing out easily, but are held in place by friction. No clamps to fasten or unfasten, no slides, nothing. The mount, as mentioned, adjusts at the push of a button. You could realistically deploy the tripod and adjust the mount in two seconds flat. The whole thing packs down roughly to the size of a small Red Bull can, so it's easy to bring it along in a bag or pocket. This will see frequent use on car hoods, tables, roadsides, and my workbench. It is flat-out the best camera accessory for the money that I've purchased.

Excellent Sturdy Portable Countertop Tripod
Let me start but mentioning that there is another newer version of this tripod called the Pixi Mini Evo that cost twice as much but offers a lot of other features. The Pixi Mini Evo is a bit larger, has a twist screw compression for the ball head, a cut out for the camera to do portrait mode or face completely up or down, extending legs that also fold out flatter for far more versatility and standing options. This tripod, has a spring loaded button compression for the ball head, is much smaller than the Pixi Mini Evo, the legs do no extend and only fold out to one position, and to connect this to your camera you have to twist the tripod on. Although this tripod doesn't offer as much as the Pixi Mini Evo, it does offer fantastic portability, simplicity, and rock solid functionality. I have been on the fence on whether or not to buy this tripod until I saw one in an Apple Store and got to try it out a bit. The ball head adjustment button was surprisingly easy and sturdier than you could imagine it would be. It feels light weight but solid at the same time and it is just easy to carry around. I'm using this with a Sony A6300 and have used the PZ Sony G 18-105, Sony Zeiss 24, and the Canon 85 1.8 with the MC-11 lenses. I have to say I doubted the 2.2lb estimate and didn't think it would keep the A6300 sturdy with the reasonably large and heavy 18-105 but it did with flying colors. Once I release the button, the camera stops moving and is perfectly steady. It is really amazing how such a simple system can be so reliably sturdy. Of course using it with the other much lighter lenses works just fine as well and when I have my camera on the tripod I don't worry about it falling over as the legs are sturdy enough to keep it from tilting over. It also apparently works as a short seflie stick but that wasn't really my intent with it. I don't use camera grips and I didn't buy the A6300 for a selfie camera but it is nice that it can be used in this way. You can buy the Pixi Mini Evo for around $50 and I'm sure it is great, but I got this because I want something small that I can carry around effortlessly that works quickly and simply. Manfrotto didn't cut corners on this and it shows in quality materials and intelligent design elements. It is easy to carry in your bag or even your pocket and it is even easier to use when you need it. At $25 this tripod is easy to recommend and I will update my review should I find any more positives or faults with this. Also, I wanted to note that although I did test this tripod with the A6300 and 18-105, the pictures I posted are with the Zeiss 24 1.8.

Good tripod for the money
May not be as tall as you need it. But I put it up on a few books and it works fine. Good product
