Like most others, I accidentally threw mine out. As the item description claimed, I can confirm this fits a black and decker HLVA315J vacuum perfectly.

I made the same mistake as others
I made the same mistake as others and threw my pre filter away with the original filter. You can absolutely use your vacuum without one of these, but it will not function as it should. Without this piece, the filter will easily collect large pieces of dirt and hair which in turn cause your vacuum to lose suction power. Great replacement, and a must have 👍
