Um meine Zugangsdaten im Internet per Webauthn/FIDO abzusichern, habe ich mich für dieses Gerät bzw. Hersteller entschieden. Das Gerät wird in einer durchsichtigen Plastikverpackung aufbewahrt, dessen oberen Ende mit einem Siegel des Verkäufers versiegelt wurde. Damit kann ich sicherstellen, dass das vorliegende Sicherheitsschlüssel neuwertig ist. Das Gerät ist sehr klein ( Größe 1/2 Zeigefingers). Dabei hatte ich mir es deutlich größer vorgestellt. Meine Fingerabdrücke konnte ich problemlos hinterlegen. Eine Anleitung gibt es nicht, sondern nur über den Hersteller ggf. Händler beziehbar. Die Sprache ist leider auf englisch, jedoch sehr leicht zu verstehen, da fast jeder Schritt mit einem Screenshot versehen ist. Lasst Ihr das Gerät am USB Stecker drin stecken, wird es nach einer Weile ziemlich heiß. Im großen und ganzen bin ich zufrieden. Insbesondere der Preis war ausschlaggebend. Der Hersteller hat aus meiner Sicht allgemein sehr preisgünstige und damit erschwingliche Sicherheitsschlüssel für jedermann im Angebot. Es muss nicht immer der namhafte Hersteller sein, der nahezu überall auf den Medien beworben wird. Daher mein Geheimtipp!

Purchased this as a backup key to a couple of my YubiKey 5 series. TrustKey is a member of the FIDO Alliance so no trust issues or security concerns with the equipment. No NFC but has fingerprint recognition, and that's what I was looking for.

After the computer goes to sleep, you must unplug this and put it back in order to sign in with Windows Hello. Their technical support had no solution other than to say their aware of it and working on a solution. I returned it because I wanted something that makes sign-in easier. I wanted some security around Windows sign-in and accessing my password manager (BitWarden), and also wanted something quicker and easier than a PIN or password. Set up was as simple as plugging it in and going to the Windows Hello section of Settings. I had to buy this because my previous device (AuthenTrend ATKey.Pro) relied on "Companion Device Framework" which Microsoft stopped supporting. Even when it did work, it required a few extra clicks every time to switch from PIN entry to fingerprint. This new device doesn't require the extra clicks because it supports Windows Hello natively without Companion Device Framework. I wanted one with a USB-C connector (smaller, and I think the old style USB ports will get increasingly less common). This device was the only USB-C option I could find for sale. It's quite thin, barely thicker than the USB-C connector, so it wouldn't be bulky to carry around on a key chain.
