An inexpensive fix, for what seemed like a fatal malfunction.
Right out of the blue, the suv was running terribly. Hard shifting from park to reverse and into drive — then on the road, the engine raced while the transmission guessed at what to do. I thought the transmission (short form: “tran*y” but Ama*on apparently doesn’t like that term) was shot but further study suggested the throttle position sensor. Hyundai wanted over $200 Canadian for their part, which wasn’t in stock. This one was about $20. I ordered this one, which fit perfectly. 10 minute refit on an 2005 2.7L v-6. After going through the “relearn” procedure (examples online), the vehicle is back to running just fine.
