Here's what I do... - This product does a fantastic job removing residue of dried eyedrops, tears, and other secretions/debris from the eyelids. As a result, the eyes are not chronically irritated by this residue, which normal washing with soap and water does not remove. So the whites of the eyes are whiter and less red, and the eyes do not have that itchy feeling. And it is not necessary to use eye drops as frequently. The product does not sting the eyes if you get some of it in your eyes. It does not feel good, but it is not terribly unpleasant. I learned about this product by accident; I was completely unaware of this product or similar products. The enthusiastic reviews of this product that I read on desertcart are entirely justified. Here is what I do: I quickly depress the plunger on top of the bottle to dispense some foam into the cupped palm of my hand. Then, I use my index finger to scoop up half the foam and gently rub it across the eyelid of one closed eye. Then, I use my index finger to scoop up the rest of the foam and gently rub it across the eyelid of the other closed eye. The product is a liquid that is converted to foam by quickly passing through a nozzle, so it is necessary to apply the product to the eyelids without delay. **Q: The bottle I purchased here last year has taken on a rancid odor similar to rancid soap, not outdated. Should I still use it?**
A: Rancid is the exact word for it. I recently purchased 2 bottles that are good until 6/2017. I don't think I will continue to use this product. Glad to know I wasn't the only one who noticed the odor.  Just had tear duct surgery and another coming up in September. Don't need complications!!

**Q: How many uses do you get out of this?  Which is more cost effective-- this one or the pads?**
A: I think it is more cost effective than the pads and I find it is easier to use.  It depends on how much you choose to use at a time.  I would guess that mine lasts about 3 (?) months, twice, daily.

**Q: does this contain tea tree oil**
A: No, it doesn't.  It's a mild yet effective product that was recommended to me by an optometrist.  It's helped me keep my eyelids clean and healthy.  Note there is another version in a black container that isn't the "Plus" version.  I recommend this "Plus" version because I was using the other one for a while and developed a small non-infected sty on one eyelid, which eventually went away after I started using the "Plus" version again.  The package says "leave on for best results," but you can use it in the shower and rinse it off; it will still work, per my optometrist.  But that would depend on the condition of your eyelids; it's best to consult your doctor.

**Q: Am i applying it correctly? i was applying the foam with my finger the first couple times i used it and i ran it across my lashes as well but it burns**
A: I use it as if I'm lightly "washing" my lash line but I use a q-tip and, even though they said you don't have to, I usually rinse it off.  If it's burning you may want to consult your eye doctor.

I was having a hard time getting the lid scrubber pads that I normally use so I decided to try this foam as a stop gap. It works just as well as the pads. My washcloths are softer so there is less irritation and there is certainly less waste, that is I don’t have the packaging and paper wipe that I need to dispose of each time.
