Side depth: About 4" - 4.5" tapering narrower as it goes up.

Great pack - I use it as a "packing cube" inside a larger travel bag and then it's my carry-around when I get where I'm going.  Fits a 15" MacBook Pro.  Also works well as a lightweight "summit pack" in a bigger multi-day backpacking system.  It's light and minimal but fits well and carries a decent amount of weight (as much as you'd want with no hip belt, back padding or frame sheet).

A: 1 Lb.

**Q: Can it fit a 15" MacBook Pro?**
A: My laptop is 10.5" x 15" x 0.75" and fits nicely.  I love this pack.

A: Hi. The pack is 19liters using the standard ASTM volume calculations. Measurements are longest length width height, but the pack isn’t a perfect rectangle.
