Does the product come with a foam base and a 10 um membrane filter? When changing the filter, should I leave the foam base under my new film filter?

The apparatus has a lower porous glass base with a 10 micon pore size that supports the membrane filters that you purchase separately. The 10 micon structure is in the glass base not a separate filter. I have had great success with the apparatus.

Can I purchase just the filter apparatus without the flasks? I just need filter (top and bottom) and clamp.

I had to purchase the complete unit including the large lower flask. I didn’t see any other ads that offer what your requesting.

It is mentioned that this unit fit with 42-60mm membrane. what is the exposed membrane area? I am looking for a unit with (45mm). pl advise.

the 42mm filters that I have are a decently larger than the exposed membrane area. As for how much, I didn't measure. I would guess the 42mm filters are somewhere around 3-5mm larger if memory serves right.

Apart from this filtration apparatus, .45um filters and hand pump, do I need anything else for sterile filtering on a lab?

That should be all you need. Besides of hand pump, other vacuum sources works too.For sterile filtering, we suggest you do it in a Laminar Flow Hood.
