At $3.50 a pouch, they are a bit of an investment. At 12 grams each, they DO have twice as much protein as comparable smoothie pouches. My partner has throat cancer and has been told to pile on the protein, so HE bought these Designer Wellness Protein Smoothies. We both tried them, as did a friend. He likes them a lot. She loves them. I think they are just "eh". I cannot leave well enough alone, so I read the ingredients and learned I knew very little about many of them. Don't panic (as I nearly did) because the good news is: They are good for us. Here is a short list of ingredients I wasn't really familiar with and what I have learned about them: * rBST-FREE WHEY PROTEIN ISOLATE- supports lean muscle growth (hormone free milk) *MCT Oil - Medium Chain Triglycerides a fast-absorbing fat that goes directly into the bloodstream and is transported to the liver for quick energy, weight management and cognitive function *HIGH OLEIC SUNFLOWER OIL-Monounsaturated fatty acid that is rich in vitamin E and good for the heart * SUNFLOWER LECITHIN-Emulsifier (texture) that is good for the heart and digestion (I think it makes the tummy feel good). These are an excellent source of healthy protein. The flavors are good. The packaging is VERY convenient. I am the only one of the three of us who didn't like the texture. It was a bit pasty to me and the banana flavor was very forward. Another reviewer said rotten banana, but I felt I tasted a teeny bit of underripe banana flavor in each including the mixed berry. I would definitely recommend keeping the shelf stable pouches for days you don't have time to stop.
