RBH Sound R5BiB Bookshelf Speakers

Very good sound for the money.

Got a pair in early 2015 (when they were still EMPtek E5BIs which is a sub brand of RBH and where you can buy this exact model pair for less than you see here) and love 'em! Highs and mids sound great plus they deliver bass. Having just added an SVS subwoofer to my 5.1 system I can say without a doubt that the subwoofer goes a lot lower with movie sound effects but for music these R5BIs deliver well enough down low that the sub rarely kicks in. The clear coat over ash finish is beautiful and makes these look pricier than they are.

The look, build quality, and sound are all spectacular for the price of these speakers. Very clean and clear sound with great imaging. You can buy them on the EMPTek website, and they are worth every penny. Better performers than the Energy CB-10 I was using previously (which are now the rears for my setup). The only thing I would say is that they're a little harder to drive than the Energy speakers and they definitely need a sub. I use them with a Marantz NR1506 (also with a Sony STR-DH520, before I bought the Marantz), and a SVS SB12-NSD, in case you wanted to know my setup.

Have a few hours on these R5Bi speakers and they are already opening up. More bass than expecting, haven't hooked up the sub yet. So far very pleased, I've owned a few speakers and believe these to sound as good as some costing much more. Arrived in very good condition with only a microscopic ripple on front edge one speaker, and it is almost undetectable. Should note I purchased four. I think this is a 5 star rating.
