However, the unique composition of the stone, together with the Tormek Stone Grader SP-650 (sold separately) gives you two different cutting actions in one stone. The Stone grader polishes the surface of the grindstone from its normal 220 grit to a finish that works like a 1000 grit stone. **Q: Can you leave the stone sit in water or water has to be always removed?** A: I normally lower the water tray or fully remove it whenever I am going to leave the machine not running for more than 5-10 minutes if I take a break when sharpening knives and also toss out the dirty water and clean off the magnet from metal shavings every 5-10 knives. If you leave the water in the tray the metal shavings will rust and then the stone will be sitting in rusty water. I always clean out and dry the water tray at the end of a work day. **Q: Will this stone work on the Jet sharpener?** A: Specifications show the Jet to have a 1/2” hole, the Tormek is12mm. If that is true, they will not. But if the arbor is actually 12mm, I wouldn’t buy it anyway. Look for a CBN wheel for it. I bought one for my Tormek and would never return to stones again. They’re the same price and they will NEVER go out of true or need to be flattened. There is only one guy who makes and sells them.
