How do I adjust the length?** A: The beaded rope is easy to adjust. Slide the cord out of the handle and untie the knot. Slip the handle off the cord (be careful not to lose the plastic washer that is in the end of the handle). Next…slide off as any beads as needed to shorten the rope for your height. Then slide the handle back on; slide the washer back in place; and retire the knot. Last…cut the excess cord and singe the end with a lighter or the burner on your stove (carefully). I like the rope. The weight from the beads provided enough feel to help me learn to skip rope. I am 250 lb, or so. I use mine on a horse stall mat the vast majority of the time, but have used it on pavement a little. In any case, the beads have held up to me landing on them more often than I would care to admit. My recommendations would be to 1) adjust the length of the rope to fit you slowly (I.,e cut it down in increments to reduce the risk you will over cut it) and 2) save the extra beads you removed when cutting the rope to size. The rope is long and there’s lots of extra beads so if you’re 6ft plus you’ll be fine and for shorter people you’ll easily take a third of the beads off. Youtube instructions easy to follow. As for skipping it’s excellent for a beginner and doesn’t hurt your ankles if you miss a skip. Handles are light and the rope itself is light so when you get to advanced levels you’ll need to get a slightly heavier rope.
