Review: A must read, especially if you've already watched the anime. (Like most.) It's extremely twisted with an amazing plot, & characters. There's much left out that's important to the plot & development that was not in the anime. I definitely highly recommend this series. Review: Although still a marvellous read the previous volume of Death Note had something of a filler feel to it but thankfully this sixth volume sees this excellent manga series back on top form. Having identified that the new Kira is among seven individuals working for Yotsuba Light, L and the rest of the taskforce must find a way to get the evidence of how Kira kills his victims before the move in on the seven. When Misa is sent to get close to the seven the Shinigami Rem complicates things by revealing itself to her and Misa comes up with a plan of her own. This volume is probably one of my favourite to date with some great action and some nice plot twists. It is also good seeing the Shinigami again after there brief hiatus in the last volume, and we also learn some more about the Gods of Death themselves. Although not really much of a cliff-hanger, the ending of this volume leaves the story in an interesting place and it will be interesting to see where Death Note goes from here but with the story only at the halfway point I am worried that it could be starched out too much in the later volumes.

Quick note, if you haven't read the previous five volumes then don't read this review, as it will spoil those volumes for you. However, if you have, then this is an entirely spoiler free review for you and by all means, read on... The tension and suspense of Death Note only continues to deepen with this volume. Light, L, Misa, and Light's father are all working toward the same goal, and that is to catch what is seemingly a third Kira. At the center of all of this is the Totsuba group, a committee of seven men who meet regularly to discuss who must die next in order to further the Yotsuba Corporation's power in the commercial and financial world. Yet what isn't clear is who within this group is actually Kira, and Light and L must go about solving this mystery. All the while, Light, without his memories of being the previous Kira, must battle the suspicions of L, who still believes that Light is the main source of the original killings, and Light must do this while being perpetually hand-cuffed to the shoeless mastermind L. I felt that the previous volume slowed down a bit toward the end, and the same is true for the beginning of this volume. But soon into it the action picks up as the mysteries are unraveled surrounding the Yotsuba group. By the end, you'll be hungry for even one more chapter of Death Note, as it leaves you with one massive cliff-hanger. This is yet another great addition to the Death Note series and I highly recommend it to anyone who is enjoying the series to this point.

I'm a huge fan of Death Note and this arrived fast in a jiffy bag. I bought it used and it came brand new so I was very happy. This book is so well drawn and written, the story line is amazing and so is the plot. I absolutely adored the way it had me reading faster and faster to see what happens. (Even though I already knew) I'd like to say that the anime sticks very closely to the story and portrays it well. Obviously if you buy this don't read it before the other's as you wont understand. Also it makes you pining for the next instalment in book seven as it cuts out right before Higuchi is captures as Kira.
