NEWS was founded on the premise that (i) early detection, (ii) timeliness and (iii) competency of the clinical response comprise a triad of determinants of clinical outcome in people with acute illness. It's a standard system used in healthcare settings across the UK. In a very digital world, having a physical quick reference card at a glance can be a life-saver! Badge Card Holder Included is a badge card holder that's dual-sided, so as well as being able to carry your NEWS2 card you can carry your ID card or a SmartCard too! The moulded ridge design prevents bending and cracking. Recognise & Respond To Deterioration Thresholds & Triggers A score of 0, 1, 2 or 3 is allocated to each parameter in the NEWS2 Score. A higher score means the parameter is further from the normal range. Appropriate clinical responses are given for threshold (trigger) levels. This makes it clear when and how to seek help. The NEWS2 Score The National Early Warning Score (NEWS2) is a system for scoring the physiological measurements that are routinely recorded at the patient's bedside. Its purpose is to identify acutely ill patients, including those with sepsis, in hospitals in England. The NEWS2 scoring system measures 6 physiological parameters Respiration rate Oxygen saturation Systolic blood pressure Pulse rate Level of consciousness or new-onset confusion temperature.
