In fact this is how I use it and it works very well with near zero latency. The one issue I have found is that the usb cable that comes with the BTR5 is flimsy and loose so you may want to get a better and more robust usb cable so that you don't lose your connection to the pc. This is particularly annoying if you are using something like Protools with Headphones...once the USB connection is lost you have to restart your session to re-establish the link to the BTR5....other that that with most other applications you may not notice the connection drop/reconnect. Hope this helps **Q: Can this drive 250-ohm headphones?** A: I found it to drive mt 300ohm MD Senn 6XX's exceedingly well. I use the 2.5mm balanced output. Phenomenal lil unit! A+ to FiiO... **Q: can it be connected directly to iPhone through a type c to lightning adapter, to avoid AAC bitrate while listening to flac files on foobar or tidal?** A: To use this dubious, poorly executed piece of equipment on an iPad or iPhone, you have to purchase the $40 dollar apple “powered USB3 camera adapter “, which will make anything and everything work on your iPad or iPhone, don’t let the name “camera adapter “ fool you. You can get a power hungry hard drive or an unpowered external DAC /headphone amp to work fine with said adapter. I’d avoid this one and go with the Fosi Audio K4, because it has a very buttery sounding TI Burr-Brown pcm-5100 in it. It’s not exactly portable, but it sounds awesome!, and it only costs $60 bucks! That’s an impulse buy. If you want something lighter, get the Hip-Dac. It also has a Burr-Brown in it. **Q: Can I plug in a set of phones to the device and walk around connected it to a source wirelessly?** A: No, absolutely not. There is a severe defect in the Bluetooth receiver that makes it cut out from just 4 feet away.
