There is enough air line to separate the tank from the horns so you don’t have to cluster the equipment. I mounted mine on a 2010 f350. The tank is under the bed forwardmost and the horns are underneath my back seats (outside of course). But it is quieter then most I have heard. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good with some work *by K***H on Reviewed in the United States on 1 December 2019* Definitely worth the money really enjoy this product install wasn’t too hard but a lot of people complain about them going out too quickly and I believe that is because that they leak air from the upper part of the motor for the compressor I had to take the bolts out and put Loctite on them and reinstall them but ever since then it only kicks on when I use it and it’s perfect ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great Kit @ A Great Price. Works Perfectly. Could be louder (not 150psi as advertised). *by S***A on Reviewed in the United States on 13 October 2021* The media could not be loaded.  I wanted to add train horns to my truck for a while. I found this kit which was a great price and it has decent reviews. I purchased this kit and will go into detail about everything from beginning to end below.Shipping: The kit arrived really quick (about 2-4 days). It even showed up before the expected date. That was exciting. I didn't get to install this kit for about 2 weeks due to other obligations I had.Packaging: Most of the components were packaged well in a appropriate size box. The hardware however was in small zip lock bags and opened causing the contents to pour out. This made it difficult to verify I had all the hardware I needed before I started the install.Contents & Quality: The horns, air tank, and compressor looked really good. The powder coat was spot on and all pre assembled brackets and fittings were in place and pre-tightened. The air tank was smaller than I expected and although these are advertised at 150psi, they are not! The air gauge on the tank has the "red" area starting about 115psi - 120psi. The actual pressure regulator cuts the compressor off at around 105psi - 110psi. The compressor does not kick on again until the tank drops below around 95psi. This is nowhere near the advertised pressure. While I was planning out the install, I noticed there were no mounting brackets, bolts, wiring, relays, etc. All of that is sold separate and not included. This was odd because all of the wires on the rest of the components had plug-in/ pigtails on the ends. I ended up removing these and used shrink/ crimp ends. The switch that came with the kit was crap. With everything else seeming to be nice quality, the included switch is cheap and ugly. This was not something I would even think of installing. I would rather the kit come with no switch. I ended up using the factory AUX switches in the cab. I designated one to the compressor and another to the horn itself. The air tank has the compressor mounted right to it making install easy. The ports on the tank were used for the compressor to fill the tank, the pressure switch to regulate the pressure, a port for the pressure gauge, and an "out" to supply the horns with air. There is an additional port (plugged) in the tank that is supposed to be the drain. No matter what orientation the tank is mounted, this is never on the bottom. Its not a great design at all.Mounting: As noted above, there really wasn't any mounting brackets aside from the angle the horns were attached to and the legs on the tank itself. I assume the manufacturer expected the user to use self tapping screws right into the chassis frame. I wasn't going to do this so I made custom mounting brackets that allowed me to install everything without drilling into the frame. This is the best option in my opinion and everything mounted right under the passengers side floor between the chassis frame and the side steps.Sound: Once everything is installed and working, I tested everything out. The compressor is a little loud and you can feel it vibrate the truck when its running. Its not terrible and most people may never notice it. I did, so I plan to get some rubber cushion to dampen the sound/ vibration. The horns sound decent when the pressure is full, but as I noted earlier, it never gets to the 150psi that it was advertised. If it did, I bet these horns would be way better. If you want to "surprise" someone, you may want to hit the horn a few times to make sure the compressor fills the tank before doing so. You can honk the horns 5-10 times before the compressor kicks in again and starts to fill the tank. When the horn is hit, it sounds decent. For a small package, it is loud and obnoxious. That's exactly what I was looking for. I have made my kids scream, and quite a few friends jump when they get startled. In the cab, it isn't too loud, but outside, it is.It doesn't have a deep tone like most people think of when they think about a train horn or freight ship. It is more high pitched. It does sound like most trains as they come up to an intersection. So it is as advertised. This is due to the shorter horns themselves, to get a deeper louder tone you need bigger/ longer horns. I don't know that its necessary though (I am still thinking about it). The one thing I really noticed; the air line supplied is really small. It works as it should, but I am thinking of replacing it with a larger size. More air volume should make these horns sound better (I tested the horns with my AC when they arrived to make sure they work before installing, they sound way better with the higher volume of air). We will see what I can do in the coming months to improve the install.Conclusion: These horns work as they should. I wish I would have spent the little more to get a higher end kit with more pressure and a larger air tank. It would have been nice to have a complete kit with wiring , but its not necessary. At the price point these are at, this is a great option to add train horns to your vehicle. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a decent horn on a budget. The biggest disappointment is the compressor can't supply the 150psi that this company claims. ### ⭐⭐ Stopped working after a week and half *by C***G on Reviewed in the United States on 29 July 2019* My boyfriend has had these on this truck for not even two weeks now and the air compressor has stopped holding air all together.. I have sent a message to the seller and haven't heard anything back.I will say that before these stopped working, he was very happy with them.
