I lost mine** A: No way to contact this company for information, warranty etc. Manual says contact dealer for questions, I'm not thinking Amazon is going to be much help. I ordered one for a cargo box but the the box says watercraft? And BTW why isn't the manual for each model on the Harken site. Bad service for the price **Q: how does it works with jeep tops?** A: The hoist works great with the Jeep. I have a 2012 2-door, and it only takes about 10- to 15-lbs. of force to lift the top off. My 8-year old son is able to lift the top. **Q: Any evidence of creep failure or stretching in the rope or straps? Rope material? "Double braided rope" is vague.** A: No creep or stretch. Seems very solid polyester or nylon rope. All parts should hold up well even if you exceed the load limit by a significant margin. And then I’d expect the mechanical parts to fail before the ropes / straps.
