GE 4-Way Distribution Amplifier, 34479 : desertcart.in: Electronics Review: This review is for the 4 channel amplified splitter. Hooked this up to my rotating antenna to try to help boost the signal. You know the $25 Chinese rotating antenna that a bunch of people selling under different names. The antenna worked great but for whatever reason I have a hard time getting abc where I live with any antenna so I figured I’d give it a shot. The picture on every channel dropped out and had no signal with this amplifier plugged in. I’m assuming since the antenna is powered through the coaxial cable, the amplifier is interfering with the signal or just cancelling it out. It does say for passive antennas only but figured I’d give it a gamble and lost. I also checked the GE website and found absolutely no info on it so I wonder if they even make it or someone using their name? Anyway don’t waste your money if you have an amplified or powered antenna of any kind because it won’t work. Used this unit to amplify the signal from an outdoor antenna so I could distribute it to two television receivers (one a small flat-screen, and the other a very old CRT television with a digital converter box). Worked fine for the purpose -- a reasonably-priced solution, easy to use, and resulting in a clear, usable signal for both receivers.
