I spent a lot of time researching sardines before buying regularly, and King Oscar kept standing out for quality, consistency, and long-term reputation. The brand has been around for over a century, and that shows in the product. These brisling sardines are wild-caught, wood-smoked, hand-packed, and packed in water with very simple ingredients.A lot of the negative reviews seem to miss an important point: these are packed in water, not oil. Water-packed sardines will naturally have a more direct aroma and more pronounced fish flavor. Oil, especially olive oil or seasoned varieties, softens both the smell and the taste. So if someone is expecting the milder profile of oil-packed sardines, they may not like these, but that does not mean the product is low quality.In my experience, the quality has been consistent across multiple orders, including shipping. The fish are clean, well-packed, and exactly what I want when I’m looking for a straightforward sardine without added oils or heavy flavoring.If you want a mild, oil-packed sardine, buy that version. Lovely tiny sardines. I often count them and there are usually 12 - 20 sardines per tin! And with skin and bones so higher in nutrients ncluding calcium.

Very plain tasting. However low salt and no olive oil, you get the product you need, not the taste you want. Fills the belly.

I love these King Oscar sardines. Delicious and nutritious! I've bought them many times before. However, this time they arrived badly damaged, so I've deducted one star. The Amazon shipping bag was undamaged, but the carton containing the cans was open and crushed, so the damage didn't happen during transportation. Three of the cans were smashed, one of them badly (pictures attached). I can't trust that the sardines are still safe to consume so I have to return them. Shame on Amazon, they really need to be more careful.But as I said, I think these sardines are great, and I recommend them.

I eat these for the minerals they provide and to increase my omega 3s. I buy them in water and add whatever oil or condiments I want. What I like about these is each can contains many little sardines. I prefer the small ones. I like that whenever my local store is out of them, I can buy them here.

I like this product but it arrived with rims ruptured and leaking. I had to toss them because you can’t trust even a slightly ruptured tin. I’m sure Amazon will make it right.

A good bargain. Sardines taste great. No perceptable bones since small Bisling sardines. However still get the calcium since they are there. No oily mess.

Me gusta la versión en agua, que es difícil encontrar. Ideal para servir con huevo duro, jitomate, pepino. Muy saludable y nada pesado, sobre todo en la merienda.
