They are just like folded boxes - you can fold and unfold as you want. However, they are much sturdier with tape along the seams. Also, the pre-glued seams fall apart very easily as well. **Q: Would these hold 12×12 scrapbook paper?** A: I don't believe they would be deep enough. Pretty much limited to 9 x 12 items (like a folder). **Q: What are these made of?** A: Heavy cardboard. I’ve used the same set in my classroom for two years now. One of the major things that has come up for me is that I have too much stuff (especially in my craft room, which houses what I need to make hooked rugs, jewelry, quilts, fabric boxes, stamps for printing, etc.), and what I do have isn't very well organized. So I've slowly been going through all of my craft magazines and home magazines and only keeping those that I truly believe I will use in future projects. So far I've packed up a huge box of nice craft magazines for my sister-in-law that I'll send off soon, and the remaining ones have been organized and put into these magazine holders.
