Ortho Dial N Spray Hose End Sprayer

I’ve had my Ortho Dial N Spray for a couple of years now, and it works really well! I originally purchased it back in 2022, and here we are in 2026 and it still works as if it was new. The build quality and reliability have completely exceeded my expectations for a lawn and garden sprayer. It's extremely simple to use as long as you clean it out with just water at the end for at least 30 seconds. Rinsing it through thoroughly after every application prevents any leftover product from clogging up the dial mechanism, and that small step keeps it performing perfectly year after year. If you want a dependable, easy-to-use sprayer that actually lasts, this one is worth every penny! Highly recommended!

I have used 2 different hose end products in the past and both times they did not disperse well or at all. I assumed it may be a water pressure issue or maybe the hose length but decided to give the Ortho Dial N Spray a chance anyway. The Ortho hose end sprayer works well and is easy to use - no issue with product not dispering here, which is great. I like the precision of my back pack sprayer but for products that need watered in anyway, like soil amdendments or liquid dethatcher, this is a better option. I only wish there was a way to lock it in the ON position for large areas and I found screwing the part that holds the liquid on with the liquid inside was a bit annoying. Other than that, this product is great and cheap enough to try if hose end sprayer products are an issue.

Game changer. I used to have to fill a little hand pump 50 times to spray a yard. Measure every time as well. Now no more! Measure once and walk around with hose! Saves SO much time and aggravation. Quality seems pretty good, thick plastics, etc. Some people mentioned leaking, I had some water leaking from where your hose screws into the sprayer. If your hose thread doesn't extend very far out, this will happen, the hose isn't sealing tight against the gasket. Just get another gasket at the hardware store, its a standard garden water pistol gasket size, then, double up the new gasket with the old one, and screw your hose back on. No more leaks. Enjoy! This applicator works great - using it with Wondercide and it works great. Like the dial set up and it is easy to use and seemed effective

This makes spraying the lawn so easy and efficient.I wish I would have bought this years ago asyou save lots of time with it.I just buy the concentrate yard poison and put it in this and its ready.

I'm on my third sprayer of this model. They work okay for a while, but they always start leaking. Also, the filter at the end of the hose that picks up the product eventually rusts and plugs. It's okay if you just use it once in a while, but it's not a workhorse. I can't find another option that looks any better, though.

I originally bought this sprayer to make a safe dish-soap solution for getting rid of wasp nests on my fruit trees. It has 14 dial settings: 1 tsp, 1-1/2 tsp, 2 tsp, 4 tsp, 1 tbsp, 1 oz, 1-1/2 oz, 2 oz, 2-1/2 oz, 3 oz, 4 oz, 5-1/3 oz, 6 oz, and 8 oz. Each setting represents the amount of solution the sprayer will add per gallon of water being sprayed. Funny enough, I never ended up using it for the wasps. Instead, I started using it to apply Wellspring Gardens Banana Fuel Fertilizer to my Ice Cream banana plants. Because the Banana Fuel Fertilizer is a highly concentrated, water-soluble powder, I had to figure out the correct concentration for use with this sprayer. I also needed to make sure the fertilizer dissolved completely so it wouldn't clog the sprayer. I set the Ortho sprayer dial to 1 oz then the rates that I have are as follows: 8 oz water: 2 Tbsp + 2 tsp Banana Fuel 16 oz water: 5 Tbsp + 1 tsp Banana Fuel 32 oz water: 10 Tbsp + 2 tsp Banana Fuel I add the fertilizer to the sprayer first and then add warm-to-hot water to help it dissolve completely. So far, I've only needed to use the 8-ounce mixture, and this sprayer has worked flawlessly with the solution. I haven't experienced any clogging or other issues. Overall, I'm extremely happy with this sprayer! Its exactly what I wanted and it has turned out to be even more useful that I expected. Every time that I can fertilize my banana plants without having to haul around gallons of water in a watering can, I will be singing this little sprayer's praises.

Leaks really badly, needs an extra adapter to use in the UK, expensive, took 3 weeks to arrive - in all, a waste of money. I wish I had read the reviews more thoroughly before I bought it. Unfortunately, I didn’t test it out until the return date had passed, otherwise it would have gone back!
