Are they dishwasher/microwave safe?

Not microwave safe. Both sets I bought cracked with in the first minute of being the the microwave for the 1st time. They will not refund.

How hot are the plates when used to microwave food? The ones I have now are almoet unbearable but the food isn't yet warm. Thank you!

They get pretty darn hot - I usually use a potholder to get my bowl/plate/cup out. Stoneware is pretty bad about this, I had the same problem with a different set.
