TOASTER 2 SLICE

Pros: - Excellent Results! The toast pops up nicely scorched on the outside, yet the inside seems to stay moist, fresh and delightfully “warm” as if freshly baked. - This model T-36UB is rated at 800 Watts, so I tested the heating coils. They seem to run about 700° to 750° Fahrenheit. It lets them toast/scorch the outside quickly before the inside dries out. (Contrast that with my older toaster’s coils that ran about 500° Fahrenheit. They slow-baked & dry everything out). Totally sold on this new one! - Full range of use with normal toasting (default), then has buttons for Reheat, Defrost, Bagel (toasts 1-side only), and of course the Cancel button. All features worked well. - I tested some frozen waffles (photos included) and the settings produced the desired darkness & crispness outside, yet still moist inside. - The surprisingly wide slots (1.5”) accommodate most anything from bagels to French toast and frozen pastries. - The conveniently lit-up (a nice Blue color) buttons & dial runs from settings 1 (Light) thru 6 (dark). I found #3 worked for most items. Your mileage may vary. - It’s wonderfully quiet with a soft “click” when it pops up. It’s a little thing, but you begin to appreciate it. (Contrast this with some other toasters that chirp or chime whenever you put toast in, and again when it pops up. That’s definitely annoying when others are asleep.) - The crumb tray must be pushed in slightly, then it springs out about an inch so you can pull it, dispose of crumbs, and reset it. Easy to clean. - Someone had the clever idea of putting air vent slots on either side. Sure helps keep the toaster cabinet cooler. - Comes with a 1 yr quality assurance warranty and was packaged well, suggesting quality control. Cons: None I could find. Overall Evaluation: Great 2-slice toaster that listed at $40 and with Amazon discount du-jour plus a coupon, it was $30. Terrific deal.

Toasts one side darker than the other,on both sides of the toaster. Like the styleand easy opening for bagels....

A nice toaster. The red color is not what I expected, my youngest called it a "Darth Vader color". Kind of a sinister red, much fancier than I expected. Does not look like it belongs in a kitchen. I've actually been looking at other toasters which are available in a more normal color. Like plain white or a basic red, not something as overstated as I find the red color on the toaster I bought is. I want something that looks like it belongs in a normal home. It reminds me of a female with too much makeup on, you know?

Works great and bread actually fits in it. Basic and efficient.

Worked well for 18 months, then started the slow but inevitable process of dying. Now at 23 months it is going to the scrap metal yard. My previous toaster also lasted precisely 2 years, and it was the New York Times Wirecutter top pick for 2-slice toasters, the CPT-122. I don't know whether cheap toasters are realistically expected to last any longer than 2 years. This is what the Wirecutter folks have to say about Cuisinart toasters: "...may not last for more than five years, give or take." Ours was good for about 300 uses.

This is a fine toaster so far. It actually toasts the bread to the desired toast level you want. The wide mouth allows me to toast the frozen garlic bread I buy frozen at the store. Of course there is a learning curve. but there is no variation in toasting once you have it set where you want it. I also like the lit blue circle around the on button. It lets me know at a glance when it is working. I am pleased.

This toaster is great. I tried one or two other toasters before finding this one. I've used it for a year and I'm really glad I kept searching until I found this one. The blue light around the dark/light knob is really nice and the crumb tray is easy to use for cleaning. I really like the product. Update after 2 years: Still love this toaster. Only downsides are that the lettering is disappearing because I wipe the toaster with a warm mildly soapy cloth sometimes, so I applied stickers using a P-Touch label maker. And the spring is so strong that it tends to launch lightweight gluten-free toast out of the toaster and onto the countertop. It's a little comical. I'm an electrical engineer so I added a link to the eject spring to make it longer and now it doesn't shoot toast out the top when it's done.

I'll start with the one positive. This product looks good. I think there is a chance I received a used or pre-owned unit. The new seal was put over the original seal on the package and the crumb tray at the bottom was not clean. This is not great but not terrible. Unfortunately when I turned this toaster on for the very first time it began to emit the strongest, burning, noxious odor I have ever smelled in my life. It was so terrible that alarm bells started going off in my brain and I actually thought I was about to pass out. It felt straight up poisonous to breathe in. Perhaps it was a defective unit, but quite frankly, I don't think it's worth purchasing one of these if the options are 1) you get a great one, or, 2) get three months taken off of your life from breathing in invisible toxic gas. DON'T BUY.

Very good quality. Nice for both toast or bagels. Easy to use and it looks good too.

Nice design. I love that the knob is also lit up. Each button is lit around depending on if pressed. This toaster does take a lot longer than the typical toaster so if you're impatient or in a rush, this toaster isn't for you. IWith defrost for frozen toast, I increase the darkness level. It helps to get the desired darkness. I haven't burnt toast yet. It's honestly worth the wait for the toast time. It tests evenly. I appreciate the bagel button. The bagel button does what it says and toasts the cut side only. It also doesn't overtoast the bagel which can honestly kill the bagel texture when that happens. 4 stars because I did have a glitch with the toaster one day where I used defrost, level 3 on the know, and the toaster canceled itself out too soon. It hasn't done it since but it was a certain red flag for me. I've now had the toaster for almost 6 weeks. Really it's not bad other than that (hopefully) one-time glitch.

Great toaster it worked like a dream for over a year. When it started to not toast properly I contacted the supplier. Within 6 hrs my issue was completely resolved. Definitely buy this toaster.

This toaster is gorgeous looking. Now if you like your toasts completely burned out, like black, you won't like this toaster. Even at the highest level it will take 2 shot to turn it black. But if you like it lightly toasted like i do, then it is pretty good at it. I wouldn't try frozen bread in this one, i don't think it toast long enuf to matter. I notice the heat is good, but it's the time it stays in the toaster that is a bit short which is why some peeps complain about it not toasting enuf.

Good, clear design, but I have found that I need to dial to the limit, and then move the dial to 2-3 for 2nd time for the bread to be reasonably toasted . By that I don't mean dark/burnt, just medium. It does say it depends on the amount of sugar in the bread, but my old toaster didn't need 2x for anything. After a number of years it' died', hence this one.
