## Features

- Kidde KF20: 230V mains powered with 9V alkaline battery backup
- The KF20 is the direct replacement for the following models: KF1, 4870 / 4881 and 1240C / IAR230C
- The KF20 is also the replacement for a number of older models and can be electrically interlinked with them. However, the following alarms use different style connector blocks so an electrician will be needed: 123i / 1239HI, 1275H, KF1R and KF10R
- This alarm is suitable for the updated 2022 Scottish legislation for fire alarms in homes
- CE marked and Kitemarked to BS EN 14604: 2005. Suitable for installations complying to BS 5839-6: 2019 Grade D2

**Q: Does this fit the old 120-1123C**
A: Hi,
I cannot remember exactly which old model I had, but there is a new base / mounting plate supplied in the box and a new different connector. If your old one is not too old, the old base plate and connector may be compatible. Either way it is not a difficult job and everything is provided.

**Q: Would this be suitable for the Firex 120-1123c?**
A: I'm afraid I don't know the different model types. If your old one is mains powered, and possibly linked to a second alarm, it should be okay. A new mounting plate and connector is supplied with the new device, (in the Box).

**Q: Hi, i have the kidde firex model 4870 hardwired in my house and i need to replace them.  do these alarms have the same wiring connection as the 4870?**
A: You may need to change the connector that attaches to the mains power supply and connects to the alarm which is supplied in the box.

**Q: Is this suitable for mounting near a bathroom (approx 3m from shower, but mounted on landing ceiling) or do I need an ionisation alarm**
A: Yes this best for mounting near a bathroom, as this is an optical alarm, it will reduce the amount of nuisance alarms as opposed to an ionisation alarm.
